Happy Halloween!

My favorite holiday and season is Halloween and October, I always love being cold and snuggly just before it gets to cold to function and I adore the scents, fashion and food in October. This Halloween I had the day of work and was able to go all out! Well make cakes, carve a pumpkin and watch horror films.

Carving the Pumpkin
I was joined by my little brother to carve this year's rather large pumpkin, we did cats eye's and a traditional mouth and nose. My favorite smell ever is fresh pumpkin I love the scent but can never find any candles that have the same scent!

Spooky Cupcakes!
I love to bake and making cupcakes is easy and fun to do, I made chocolate ones as I had some cocoa I needed to use up and then I added some spooky faces using icing sugar and red coloring, I added to much colouring though so I ended up getting a really rich looking red which looked a lot like blood!

Halloween films
Of course I watched the original Halloween, as well as the Rob Zombie remake's. I then watched IT, The Inn Keepers and Trick or Treat. I'm a massive horror fan and on Halloween I tend to watch as many horror films as possible.  There's nothing better then snuggling down and watching some spooky films!

Watch out for tomorrow's post all about going out and dressing up!

Lush Halloween Goodies!

I could not resist the Halloween Bath products in Lush and brought Pumpkin, Soot Ball and Lord Of Misrule which were all around the £3 mark. The three products were available in store and online but are currently out of stock =[ boo! But here is my review!

Pumpkin
This little Bubble Bar was adorable and I almost felt bad crumbling him under the hot water but he turned out to be a fantastic buy. The scent was my favorite ever scent orange but it wasn't to citrusy and it also had added ylang ylang oil which I think made it a nice mild orange scent. The bath turned a lovely orange colour and there were loads of bubbles! I adored this bubble bar and can't wait till next Halloween to buy a few more.

Soot Ball
This product was a little odd, I knew it was covered in black but underneath it looked like orange was coming through but once placed into my bath I had a tub full of black water and a little shimmer of orange. It also had quite a nice scent to it and left me covered in glitter after. So atm I'm abit hit and miss with this bath bomb!

Lord of Misrule
My favorite of the three I picked out! It looked a little odd like it wasn't meant to be apart of the Halloween range as it had an impressive aqua colour to it but once placed into my bath is started to fizz out a dark deep red, it fizzed for around 3 minutes before I started to hear the wonderful sounds of popping candy! The scent is an odd one at first it just smelt of soap and the usual Lush scent but then I could smell a citrus scent to it. I love this bath bomb and wish it wasn't just a Halloween special!

So that's its for Halloween bath treats but watch out for tomorrows spooktastic going out post!

High Street Vs. Fashion Thickening Sprays

A few months ago I received a freebie from a magazine for some Bumble and Bumble Thickening spray, cue using it and falling in love but then I had a peak at the price tag and realised for the full size product it is £21.50! Which for me is just to much. So I went on the hunt for a cheaper alternative and found Fat Hair do one for £5.99 which impressed me a lot, so I thought I would do a high street vs. fashion post on these two lovely items.

Design
Bumble and Bumble comes in a clear bottle with simple black writing and also has an easy to use pump. Fat Hair comes in a grey bottle with red writing but has a pump function with a really odd lock. I prefer the Bumble and Bumble as its easy to see how much product you have left and the easy to use pump is much better than one with an odd lock.

Scent
Fat Hair scent is very much like a normal hairspray scent fresh and perfume mixed as one. Bumble and Bumble has a fresh almost fruity scent to it. I prefer the hairspray scent as the Bumble and Bumble one can become overpowering to my shampoo, So Fat Hair wins this round.

Texture
Both products are liquids and are clear they also have the same lightweight feel to them, once in the hair Bumble and Bumble have a dry effect to puff the hair up, where Fat Hair has a brushable effect while still puffing up the hair to get a thick effect, So Fat Hair wins again.

Price and Packaging
Both are un packaged and just on there own, the price is a massive jump with a £15.51 price difference Fat Hair have a great range between £4-£10 and Bumble and Bumble do some great travel items or mini starting from £7.50. So for this round it has to be Fat Hair.

End Result
Bumble and Bumble lasts all day and always has a scent to it you can always scrunch your hair up and it will stay. Fat Hair lasts all day and is scrunch able but I found the scent went away after a while and if you brush is to much is can take the product out completely.  I loved how each product worked and really enjoyed using them both but in the end Bumble and Bumble lasted all day and gave a better end result.

So in the end Fat Hair win's in my eyes, they have a great range which is available from Superdrug.

How I Take My Photo's

I think for a Blog the need to take good photo's make up around 40% of your blog post's, Sometimes if I find a new Blog to follow and the photo's are from Google or Pinterest or not there's I won't follow or I will lose interest in the post, So today's post is a bit about how I take my photo's and what I use. I must add I know my photo's aren't amazing!

I use a camera which was given to me as a present it's my FujiFilm Finepix J28 with 10.2 Mega Pixels, this camera is good and sturdy and takes a great photo. It has several shooting modes like Party, Text, Sunset and Snow, It has face detection and timer, It also shoots movies and has great sound quality. I found some on Amazon for around £60 so if you can afford one or want an alternative to the big cameras most people use I would 100% recommend this camera.

Finding the right light can be difficult as well as having to much light they can both ruin a great photo, I use a lamp and place it close to the object I am taking a photo or and then snap away, Sometimes I use natural light but find I get a nasty glare from sun rays so if you can find a sunny place with some shadows then shoot there to avoid sun rays. In winter it can be really hard to get the right photo and can get really annoying, I shoot with candles as you get a good shoot but not to much light and not to little.

Having to much in your photo can distract the viewers eyes from the item you are shooting, try having a background which is blank and then add one or two little items such as shells or beads, so they can see the items but its not on show to much or over shadowed.

I hope some of these tips help, leave me yours!

Vision Direct Yellow Cat Lenses

I was lucky enough to win a pair of Yellow Cat Eye lenses over on What Cat Says blog, it was through a company called Vision Direct who I had heard of before through wearing glasses and thinking of getting some lenses myself. The main problem I hate anything or anyone going near my eyes so much so when I was younger I would attack people (opticians) for even taking my glasses of. So when I won a pair of lenses there was a little bit of dread but mostly happiness as I can now try out lenses!

I won the amazing spooky yellow cat lenses as well as a cleaning solution and a handy little carry to keep them in. Once they had arrived I was so excited I got them out there packaging and started to attempt to put them in my eyes, this is where the fun starts! I tried and tried again, then tried again and finally after trying again I got them into my eyes, at first it was odd it felt like I had something in my eye (which I did) and I wanted to rub them but I waited and followed the handy instructions and slowly but surely my eyes adjusted and felt ok.

I was extremely impressed by the design and how the lenses centred them selves, I wore them at first for an hour to get use to them and make sure I could cope for Halloween. I then had to remove them, this is were all my past anxiety and nervousness kicked in, I literally could not take them out! I started crying and panicking so much my mum stepped in to calm me down and talk me through it. So after much fretting and panicking I was able to take them out! Which again was extremely easy to the great design on the lenses.

I had a look online and the company have a great selection and have some great designs, I also was impressed by the fact they also do daily to monthly contact lenses, If you wear lenses I would highly suggest buying from this company. I'm not to sure if I will swap my glasses for lenses just yet but you never know!

Lush Happy Bubble Bar and Blackberry Bath Bomb Review

I purchased these two products in my online spurge and finally used them in my recent pamper evening, I was extremely impressed with these two especially as they were from the low end budget rather then the more expensive fancy products Happy Bubble Bar was £3.25 and Blackberry Bath Bomb was £2.95.

The Happy Bar smelt really nice almost had a flowery scent to it but also smelt quite fresh and fruity, but it wowed me with the colour it turned the water and the amount of bubbles it created. The water went an incredibly blue almost like I had added a dye to the water instead of a small bubble bar, then the bubbles filled my water I would say it was the most I have had in any Bubble Bar.

I added my Blackberry Bomb to add a scent to the bath as the Happy Bar was impressive for everything else but the scent was lacking something. The Blackberry bar is small but powerful it has such a strong scent when added to water and it seemed to fizz out quite fast leaving you to relax in your bath without a bath bomb hitting your legs.

I loved these two products and will definitely be re purchasing when I do another online order!

MAC RiRi Her Cocoa Review

The MAC RiRi Eyeshadow Quad comes in Limited Edition Packaging and has 4 warm eyeshadow shades which are Bright Bronze Gold, Soft Peach, Chocolate Bronze and Antique Gold, the set cost's £33 and is currently out of stock on the MAC website but I do know it is available on Ebay.

The packaging I think is great I know a lot of people find it tacky or cheap looking, but I think its different and looks great. I also love the fact is it a magnetic opening which makes it easier I find to open, I'm not to keen on the signature on the front but I suppose thats how RiRi is to make her mark on her products.

In the Quad you get two matte looking shade's which are the Soft Peach and Chocolate Bronze which I think look great for an all over eye look, As well as two shimmer shades with added glitter the Bright Bronze and Antique Gold which I think look great just above the eye lashes over the to matte shades.

The eyeshadow comes out quite light to how it looks in the palette but goes on nicely, it also stays on lovely and I found it didn't smudge or fade during the day.

So over all I was impressed with the eyeshadows and will be keeping an eye out in my local MAC to see if anymore become available.

Nutra Green Coffee Cleanse Scam

I wasn't going to do a blog post on this scam at first but then I cam across a thread on a website which made me think Argh! as some of the comments were very naive and thoughtless. So I will go from the beginning I was browsing Facebook when a link came up for a cleansing tablet which offered a free trial so I clicked it and had a little read and all it said was you pay post and packaging and you get a free sample of either the raspberry keratin tablets or the Green Coffee ones. I went for the Green Coffee ones.

So I received my tablets and started my trial I was really happy and quite pleased with the tablets until I got a letter from the bank to inform me I was overdrawn on my credit card. I immediately went onto my online bank and checked to see what was happening when I realised the company had charged me £70! luckily it was on my credit card and after a few calls the company was blocked from taking anymore money.

I was extremely angry with the company and sent out a few emails but got nothing in return, I tried to cancel my account but the link didn't work and most of all I was charged £70 for products that I didn't even get!

So please if you ever get a 'free trail when you pay post and packaging' link just delete it and move on.

Barry M Matte Vanilla

So Barry M have brought out a new range of colour this time in a matte effect, I picked up Vanilla using my boots points as I don't really have many neutral shades in my nail varnish collection. Vanilla is a lovely light nude almost like an egg white colour, the new range is £3.99.

My varnish seemed to be quite runny but went on well, I found I only needed one coat for this paint to take effect. The colour came out as a really light purple which I liked as it is ideal for special occasions or things like a job interview. The full range has five colours one of which is Crush which was sold out when I went to have a look but hopefully I will have enough points to buy it when it comes back in stock as its a deep purple colour which looks great.

Have you tried the new Matte shade's what did you think?

The Music Tag

I was searching Google for some Tag's as at the moment there my favorite post's to read so I thought you might like that to. I came across a music tag and thought it would be great to do so here goes!

What's your favorite type of music?
I love rock and some punk, I'm also a massive fan of pop rock and some chart songs.

What's your least favorite type of music?
I am not a fan of songs that have really long instrumental beginnings, I prefer a song to start straight away with singing. I also dislike rap music.

What's the best gig you've been to?
Hardest question ever! I love a good gig and have been to so many, I was at the front of a My Chemical Romance concert once which was insane I even touched Gerard Way's arm as he ran passed but that was when I was around 16 I'm a bit more calmer now as I did scream and almost cry haha!

What albums are you currently listening to at the moment?
I recently brought Fall Out Boy's Folie A Deux album which I seemed to of missed buying when it was released. Also have the latest Now! cd.

What's your favorite bands/artists and favorite albums?
The 69 Eyes - X
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Greatest Hits
My Chemical Romance - Danger Days
Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux

If you could instantly know how to play any instrument, what would it be?
I would love to be able to play the violin, I was learning at school but I got bored and then didn't take it up when I left.

And that's the tag done! Let me know if you like me doing tags and leave me some more to do in the comments.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Mango Review

I was after a nice orange pop nail varnish one that would be a bit in your face so I was excited to see Barry M had a Gelly Hi Shine version and at only £3.99 you can't go wrong. I always rave about Barry M as I love the fact they are affordable and do amazing products so this post is going to be another great review.

I applied two coats as I find you get a great shine with two coats instead of one, it went on well and had the great pop of colour I was after. It almost reminded me of Halloween and it got me thinking of some great design's I could do with me art pens. Removing the paint was great I had a terrible feeling it would stain as it is quite bright but it came off without any effort and didn't stain at all.

I would highly recommend this product for Autumn and Winter as an alternative to the berry shades which everyone is currently raving about.

MAC Candy Yum Yum Review

I recently hit my £5 reward on my Debenhams beauty card so thought I would pick up a MAC lipstick and went for the popular Candy Yum Yum. It's a shocking pink matte lipstick which I think is perfect for nights out. For £15 you get 3g of lipstick.

Applying it is nice and easy it glides on and feels lovely and soft, it lasts around the 4 hour marks before the need to re apply. The only downside is after a night out I fell asleep in it and it stained my pillow, so as long as you don't sleep in this lipstick you should be fine!

I'm a massive lover of MAC lipsticks and am always looking for new ones to buy, What are your favorites for me to check out?

Benefit Boo Boo Zap!

So the other day I posted a post about buying two products from Benefit the second item I picked up was the Boo Boo Zap a spot treatment. It comes in a small test tube like bottle which is mint green once you take the top of there is like a white stopper type tip which if you tip it onto your hand or a pad it allows a small amount to go out. For 7.4ml you pay £13.50.

The scent is quite strong and harsh, when applying the product to my face it stings a little bit and you can most definitely feel it working straight away. It states on the packaging to use it once a day and then build up to three times a day as it may dry out your face, I used it around once a day for a week and my face felt ok not to dry so I then topped it up to twice a day for the next week, I then thought twice was enough as I didn't feel the need to apply three times as my skin had started to clear.

Over all I think this product is great it works well and cleared my skin nicely, I would happily pay £13.50 for another tube.

Benefit Lollibop Review

While I was attending a show in Birmingham recently I was given a Benefit offer and as I have never brought an item from a counter before I decided to break my spending ban and purchases two items. (slaps hand)! One of the items I picked up was the Lollibop Ultra Plush Lip Gloss, it's a really nice girly pink shade and comes in a handy handbag friendly tube you get 15.0ml for £14.50.

The gloss goes on well and sets nicely it has a nice soft feel to it and doesn't feel to sticky. I noticed when applying it has a nice flowery scent to it even though it wasn't advertised on the box it also has a really nice easy applicator which you just glide over you lips to apply the gloss. Overall the product lasted quite long on my lips before I needed to re-apply, it also comes out quite light rather then the shocking pink it looks like in the tub.

I'm not to sure it the product is really worth spending £14.50 on but it is a lovely little item.

September Empties

I've used up quite a few products this month so I thought I would do an empties post, it's mostly hair products and make up but all the products I've really enjoyed using and will be re buying most of them.

Simple Shampoo and T-Gel Shampoo
This month I had a detox month were I had to clean my hair with Simple shampoo and in between I used T-gel. My head sometimes comes up in loads of spots if I use a product it doesn't agree with and so I then have to detox. I do these detox's every 6 months or so, So I will be re purchasing these two but not quite yet!

Argan Oil Hair Treatment
I brought this product ages ago from my local Primark and it has lasted for around 3-4 months with is really impressive. I used it twice a week and leave it in for around 10 minutes before rinsing my hair, after my hair always feels really soft and it has a really nice scent to it. I would recommend this product if you have damaged hair as it is cheap and cheerful and works amazingly.

MUA Primer and BB Cream
I started using the primer everyday under my make up for a good few months and brought around 2-3 tubes of it before switching to a BB cream by the same brand. The BB is really thick and goes on heavy were my primer sets nicely and when I then apply my foundation it doesn't feel to thick. I think both products are great but I will more then likely just be re purchasing the primer.

The Body Shop Moisture Foundation
I brought this item when it was in a promotion and used it throughout summer as it was a great summer shade. It goes on nicely and lasts most of the day, as much as I enjoy using this product it is in the higher end of my foundation budget so I'm not to sure whether a repurchase will be happening anytime soon.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes
I got this product in a Glossybox and I absolutely love it! It goes on well and sits nicely on my lashes, I usually don't pick a black mascara but the fairy lashes doesn't show up to heavy on my lashes so I can wear it without my eyes looking all small and squinty. I have a new one in the post as I type this!

So that's all my products I've been loving and using up this month.

High Street Vs. Fashion AW13 Lips

My staple product for Autumn/Winter has been my MAC Rebel lipstick but I went on the hunt for an alternative product as each season I won't be able to afford the £15 price tag on MAC products. I came away from Superdrug with a Sleek lipstick in shade Cherry which is perfect for AW and at only £4.99 I can't really complain, So in this blog post I'm going to test out each product and score them out of 5.

Packaging
Each come in small black boxes MAC is with simple white writing and Sleek has a picture on the lipstick you are buying. I prefer the overall look of Sleek's as they are all similar but have different pictures on with separates them from all the other lipsticks, were as MAC all the product are in the same box just a different name on a small circle sticker. So Sleek win this point.

Design
MAC has a bullet design with a silver logo and small silver sticker on the base with the name of lipstick, Sleek is a small black design with black lettering but the base has a picture of the shade of lipstick rather then just the words. What's odd is MAC is a larger design but only has 3g and Sleek is smaller with 3.5g. I much prefer the overall look of MAC so this round goes to MAC.

Colour
Sleek is very glossy and has a nice shimmer to it, were MAC is very matte and has a shine to it. Sleek is labeled as a sheen which I would 100% agree with and MAC is labeled as a satin lipstick which I would also agree with. For this round it's hard to choose but I think I much prefer Sleek.

Feel
On my lips MAC feel's really light as smoothing almost like it is a healing product which I love, Sleek feels rather light but as a drying affect after a while. MAC differently wins in this round

How long does it last
MAC tends to last me around 4 hours and then I have to apply it also doesn't dry my lips up and in the morning my lips feel nice and soft. Sleek last's around the same time 4 hours but does dry my lips out and in the morning my lips really quite worn out. So MAC win this round.

Overall MAC win 3 points and Sleek win 2, I still love my Sleek lipstick and would buy it again.

Lush Breath Of God Toothy Tabs Review

For £2.50 you get a pack of around 40 tabs, I went for Breath Of God but Lush have another 6 to choose from. The main ingredient in my pack is Sandalwood which I think is meant to be the main scent/taste for the toothy tabs. The way you use them is you crush a tab between your teeth and then start brushing, So I gave one a god on a recent pamper evening.

The first thing I noticed is the Sandalwood is rather over powering and the toothy tabs are a bit to scented, so it felt like I was eating perfume but I decided to carry on instead of spitting it out. So I started to brush and the more I brushed the more foam I got, So I was left with a mouth full of foam and had to spit pretty much every 15 seconds or so. So it was finally time to rinse my mouth and that's when I was really impressed, My teeth were literally squeaky clean they felt great and looked amazing. I also could only taste a small amount of perfume just enough to notice it but not enough to make you gag.

Overall this product is a hit and miss, during the whole brushing my teeth I hated it but the overall results I love it. I may go back to Lush and have a look at the other one's and see if I can get some samples to try before making my purchase!

Lush Ne Worry Pas Review

This little bath bomb is only available online or in the Poole shop at £3.95, I've always been intrigued by the small purple hole so as I was doing a online order I decided to order myself one. Over all it was a nice bath bomb I just wasn't really wowed by it which is a shame.

When popping the bath bomb into the bath for around 5 seconds the small purple hole fizzed out and I was really impressed, then it just stopped. It was just a tiny hole filled with a small amount of purple glitter which was a let down. Then the bath bomb took around 3 minutes to fizz out completely which was really fast, I would of liked it to last a little bit longer as I had only just got into the bath!

But on a lighter note the smell was amazing it reminding me of parma violets as it smelt like really sweet violets, it also had soya milk in which was left in my bath from all the quick fizzing but it made my skin feel really soft and silky.

I don't think I would repurchase this bath bomb again but it is great if you have sensitive skin.

A New Edition To My Blog

Each month I will be doing a weight loss blog post as at the moment I need some motivation to lose around 6 stone! Which I know is a lot of weight but if I do I will be a healthy happy 8 stone. I think the pressure to do a blog post and let you all know how i'm getting on will make me stick to my diet and try to impress you all.

This month I will be starting my doing a simple 3 meal a day diet as I always snack and pig out in the evening, starting with a bowl of cereal and banana for breakfast, Lunch will be a sandwich and dinner a cooked meal. There will be no snacking or added meals, I'm hoping to get all meals to around 1500 calories a day so around 500 calories a meal.

I will also be cutting out drinks, switching everything to just water or herbal tea. At the moment I have fizzy drinks and milk tea which leave me with heartburn and bad indigestion.

My exercise again will be quite simply just 30 minutes a day, things like squats, sit ups and some small weight lifting. I won't be joining the gym this month as the thought of going into the gym being this weight terrifies me as I know it will be full of skinny minnies
who don't need the gym!

So for this month starting the 1st October my current weight is 14st 8lb and my clothes are size 18-20, my aim for the 1st November is 13st 8lb and to be a size 18! So please leave me some tips and link me to your weight loss posts!

Avon Peeling and Brittleness Solver Review

I have massive problems with my nails peeling and I have to always cut my nails short to stop them looking horrible, but I went for a mooch around the shops in search of a nail varnish hardener but just couldn't find the right product. I was then given a nail polish by a friend it was the Avon Peeling and Brittleness Solver.

The product costs £5 and the message is a simply 'seal in moisture and discover stronger, healthy looking nails'  you get 12ml. I've been using it for around a month now and it came to cutting my nails when I had a really good look at my nails. I had problems with my nails peeling rather than going all brittle, I would say it has improved its not all gone my nails do have the occasion peel but all in all they have improved enough for me to grow my nails a little longer than normal.

I was also impressed to see that applying it over my current nail varnishes it works well as a cover coat, I have also been using it as my base coat either on its on or under a colour. Overall I'm really thankful to the friend who gave it to me, she also gave me a Avon Cuticle conditioner and Sally Hansen Nylon + Retinol Strengthener which I can't wait to try out and review.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can stop my nails from peeling?
