Blogmas - Day Twenty Five MakeUp Revolution Calendar

Merry Christmas! Welcome to the last day of Blogmas I hope you have enjoyed this past month on my blog, today is my last post for a short while until Friday 1st January as I am going to take a short break to enjoy time with family. Today I have a review of the Make Up Revolution Advent Calendar which has been amazing!

Blogmas - Day Twenty Four #BloggersSecretSanta

This year I joined in with two secret santa swaps and was delighted to see my second parcel had arrived so I could go through and take a peak. I had the lovely Amy who picked out some great items for me!

I got my very first bottle of perfume from The Library Of Fragrance in the scent Thunderstorm which is a very subtle sweet scent which makes a great everyday scent to go for. I've been meaning to pick up a bottle of fragrance from the range but never know which one to go for!

Blogmas - Day Twenty Three Tanya Burr Advent Calendar

The 12 days of Christmas advent calendar by Tanya Burr has been pretty good! I opened the last few days early so I could get a blog post up and do a review. The items in the calendar are all limited edition and are perfect for Christmas.

Blogmas - Day Twenty Two How To Survive Christmas In Retail

I've been working in retail for 7 years so I have a lot of experience when it comes to Christmas in retail, I have picked up a few tricks on how to survive and not loose your cool over the month off December in retail.

Rude customers are always going to be a problem but the approach I have is to be as kind and happy as much as possible, it winds them up but you won't look like the bad person and they won't be able to put in any complaints. Approach them with a smile and don't response to negativity, instead ask how can you help and act like you actually want to help them and not tell them to do one.

If you do need to step out the store for five minutes to cool down then do, just explain to your manager you need to take 5 and then go sit in a cool room for a few moments. I always do my breathing exercises and count to ten before stepping out with a big smile prepared for the next moment of panic.

Have a laugh and chat with your colleagues, this will lighten the mood for everyone but also allow everyone to feel happy to come to work. I always find the term 'leave your problems at the door' a great one to practice in retail, as everyone will be stressed enough to deal with added problems on top. If you need to chat with another member of staff arrange to meet out of work or give them a call instead.

If it all gets to much of course remember that Thorntons has some great offers on chocolate this time of year and there's always a bottle of wine with your name on it!

Blogmas - Day Twenty One VCSecretSanta

This year I've taken part in a secret santa which was the Vanilla Crush swap which was a £15 swap. I had Maisie doing my secret santa and she picked a great selection of goodies for me!

Blogmas - Day Nineteen Festive Biscuits

I love to do a bit of baking and Christmas is the perfect time to get my bake on! This is my recipe for the perfect biscuits and even though it may not seem the normal recipe it works amazingly and the biscuits taste great.

Recipe
4oz Butter / 110g
2oz Sugar / 60g
Vanilla Essence - a small drop
6oz Flour / 170g

Blogmas - Day Eighteen Razzle Dazzle Review

There is nothing more Christmassy then a bright pink bath and a glass of wine, cue Lush's Razzle Dazzle. For only £2 this bath melt is perfect for anyone wanting a simple yet very girly. It's from the bath melt range so you need to just pop it into the bath but it won't fizz away right away instead it slowly melts away into the bath.

The scent is very much a perfume toned scent which is quite different to the soapy scents Lush bring out, the main tones are raspberry and lime which makes it a very fresh scent. It is also jam packed with four oils which makes it very beneficial for the skin, it left me with super soft skin which I felt working from the moment I got in the bath.

The water goes a very nice pink shade which is perfect for anyone who loves anything girly or pink, even though the product is quite small it fills the bath nicely. I loved using this product and would happily buy another one, fingers crossed it becomes a full time product!

Have you brought anything from Lush recently that really wowed you?

Blogmas - Day Seventeen Christmas Tree

For this years theme we have gone with a fake tree and silver decorations, my mum always puts our tree up and decorates it when we are all out so it's always a nice surprise when we get home. All the decorations we have either brought it bulk so I pack of eight baubles or we have brought on there own when we see them in store for example this cute little dragonfly tree topper instead of the more traditional fairy!

The tree we have had for around three years now and it's still going strong with its added glitter and pine cones it makes it a bit more festive then your normal green tree. Instead of a fairy we always place something odd on top of the tree so we have gone with a very festive silver glittery dragonfly which I think suits the tree perfectly.

Some of the tree decorations are homemade such as the little owl which was a gift to myself which I loved making, I also love the dashing reindeer's which add a little sparkle to the already overly glittery tree, but my all time favorite decorations is the chocolates which don't stay on the tree for to long!

Do you have your tree up yet? Which do you prefer a real tree or fake one?

Blogmas - Day Sixteen Lush Haul

I haven't been to Lush for ages and went in to take a peak at there new Christmas range, I wasn't blown away with the product they had in store and as it was very busy I only picked up three new items but I can't wait to try them out and review them for you.

Razzle Dazzle
I'm yet to try out any of the Luxury Bath Melts but Razzle Dazzle looked to good to not pick up, this little pink ball looks rather small and not powerful but I've heard it works wonders on the skin. The scent is raspberry with hints of citrus so it's right up my street. At only £2 it's worth picking one up!

Big Bang
I was attracted to this bubble bar straight away with it's bright colours and the name Big Bang I had to pick one up, at just £3.75 it's a great product to go for. It's my favorite scent of citrus so it's a win win with this product and I can't wait to try it out.

Star Dust
Lastly I picked up a bath bomb in the shape of a lovely star and for £2.95 it's a perfect bath bomb to go for. It has a very sweet scent to it and is quite a chunky bath bomb, I can't wait to review it for you and hopefully it will be quite impressive!

Have you been wowed by any Lush products this Christmas?

Blogmas Day Seven - Birmingham Christmas Market

This weekend I was lucky enough to visit the Christmas Market over in Birmingham, it's one of the best I've been to and I always try to go each year. It's a market that goes throughout the city starting at the Bullring going right the way up to the Victoria Square and has over 180 stalls.

Blogmas - Day Six The Perfect Christmas Hat

I love seeing the traditional red Christmas hat but this year I wanted to go for something a little different so when I spotted the perfect hat in Mountain Warehouse I had to pick one up. At only £9.99 it was a great buy but also being in a buy one get one free offer made it even better.

Blogmas - Day Five Wrapping Paper

This year I wanted to go with a theme for my wrapping paper so I picked out a nice candy cane themed paper from Wilkinsons, it was on offer at £2 each or three rolls for £4 which I thought was a great offer.

Blogmas - Day Four Christmas Cards

For my cards this year I went into my local Clintons and had a look at there sets of cards in the multi-packs, I picked up two packs and got a great deal. Each pack was £2.99 but it was part of a buy one get one half price so I got 30 cards for £4.50 which is a great bargain!

First up I have an adorable Robin card which is a cut out so not your normal square card, I thought this was really cute and would suit the children in my family but also anyone who likes cute items. I also got a rather happy Snowman in the same pack which again is a cut out making it that little bit more creative over the festive month.

Blogmas - Day Three Festive Lips

For me I love to do a red lip over the festive period as I feel it would look great to either match a daring outfit or add some colour to a dark outfit. I've selected three that are perfect for this time of year.

Blogmas - Day Two Festive Pink Nails

Pink is not the most reached for nail shade but I find it perfect for Christmas and the festive period so wanted to share with you my festive pink nails that look very glamorous! I love to glam up an outfit for festive parties and also feel like a coat of nail varnish can make an outfit look complete so here is my festive pink nail post!

Blogmas Day One

Yes you heard right I'm doing Blogmas again! I did Blogmas around two years ago and even though it was a struggle I loved looking through everyone's posts and writing mine, so I've decided to do it all over again.

Health - Feeling Sick Remedy's

When winter arrives a whole loads of sickness bugs and colds also arrive making it hard to function and get through the day, so today I wanted to share with you some simple home tricks I do to makes me feel better and get back to my normal self.

Clipper Hot Chocolate Review

It's that time of the year when the hot drinks are in full flow and all the big brands come out with there new and refreshed winter themed drinks, as a none tea or coffee drinker my go to hot drink is hot chocolate but as I'm never free or don't have the time to go in store and buy hot drinks I have to find an alternative at home drink. Cue Clipper Hot Chocolate my new all time favorite hot chocolate drink!

Beauty - Sephora Sheet Mask Review

My recent trip to New York saw me exploring the aisles of Sephora and one of the products I was after was there sheet masks. I had heard such good reviews about them that I wanted to see what the hype was and try them out for myself, I picked up a Rose one as well as a Lingzhi one both were $6.

Superdrug Caring Shampoo/Conditioner

I have been using the same shampoo and conditioner for a while now so I decided to switch things up and try a new one. I went into my local Superdrug and came across there range of products, as I know there vegan friendly I opted for a shampoo and conditioner from the range. They do a great range of products targeting all sort of hair dramas, I went for the Caring range as it helps with dry and damaged hair.

Beauty - Barry M Genie Lipstick Review

I was introduce to a new lipstick by my sisters around two weeks ago and was very much intrigued by it, the shade of the lipstick is bright green and the name is Genie so I was attracted to the lipstick from the word go. The lipstick is from the loved Barry M range so I was excited to see what I was getting myself into, Barry M is a range I always reach for when I'm looking for new lipsticks or nail varnishes.

The packaging is very bright and out there with a bright pink top and bright green bottom with a simple black band and simple black writing it's an odd one but very eye catching. The shade of the lipstick is a darker version of the green shade in the packaging so it's a very bright lipstick to get out when out and about.

Fashion - A Fashionista's Backpack

I've always been one to carry a handbag or have a little tote with me, the idea of wearing a backpack reminds me of school and sends me into a cold shudder of panic. So when I kept seeing girls with fashionable backpacks on with leather effects and fringes I started to get bag envy! So off I went into town and came back with my first ever fashion backpack.

I picked it up from New Look for £22.99 and have used it since I brought it, at first it was hard to get used to having my hands free and having to remove my bag from my back to get anything out but after a while I got use to it. The design is very me as it's plain black but has loads of studs on the front which for me looks chic yet dark which I love.

Christmas Guide - Men

My last guide for all your Christmas woes and this one is for men, on Monday I put up a Children's guide and then on Wednesday it was my women's one. Hopefully they have helped you in some way but here goes with my guide for shopping for men this year!

Christmas Guide - Women

Welcome to the second Christmas gift guide post I hoped you liked Monday's children's guide, today I wanted to share with you some gift ideas for women and then finally on Friday it will be my men's guide. At the moment there are so many gifts for women it's pretty hard to just pick one, so I'm going to go through some of the best buys in the hope to inspire you.

Christmas Guide - Children

It's that time of the year once again for me to get the Christmas guides on the go! This last week I've been shopping so thought it was only far I share with you some of the ideas and gift guides, starting with Children!

Lifestyle - October Favorites

Autumn has been my favorite month since my childhood so I always end up with a lot of products and items that I've been loving, so I thought it was only natural to do an October Favorites and share with everyone my Autumn favorites. I always go for comfort in the colder months so a lot of the things I'm going to share are home comforts with a few beauty items.

Candles
I have been burning so many candles this last month that I might have to go candle shopping spree soon, from Yankee Candles to large glass jar candles there is always one burning in my room. The main scent I've been burning has been berries and citrus scents with the odd rich toned candle in the mix, I've been going for the brand Yankee Candles as I find there small sample candles to be cheap enough to burn at free will but also the scent fills the room with such heavenly scents.

Fashion - Walk this Way! Chelsea Boots

Everyone needs a pair of simple plain ankle boots, cue the Chelsea Boot! The perfect simple plain ankle boot that looks good and has the right price tag. There are from New Look and cost just only £24.99 which is great for a pair of boots that you know will last the whole of winter.

Lifestyle - What Halloween Means To Me

I've always been very open about being Pagan and following the Wiccan religion but I've never really done a blog post on the subject and wanted to share one with you today. Samhain is one of my favorite Sabbats (a festival ) which is also know as Halloween or All Hallows Eve, the reason being this is because I've always love Autumn but also love the paranormal side of things. Samhain is the end of harvest and also a festival to celebrate the dead, since I was a child I've been able to sense and know when someone not living is in the room so when I heard about celebrating the death of someone I was drawn to the sabbat almost straight away.

Beauty - E.L.F Blush Palette Light

I'm a massive lover of all E.L.F products with it being in my top 5 beauty brands I always reach for so whilst I was in New York I checked out there products in the TJMaxx store coming away with a lipstick and a lovely blush palette.

The packaging is the one thing that draws me to the brand as it's always so sleek and effortless that it's eye catching while being good enough to display. It's a simply black palette with the even simpler white wording off what the item is and the e.l.f logo, which I love.

Beauty - Lavender Sheet Mask by Forever 21

After my trip to New York I had enough masks to start my own company but one of the first ones I tried out was the Lavender Sheet Mask for oily skin as I wanted to see if it works as well as the high end brands. The mask is from Forever 21 which is a teen to mid twenty's store that I only know of one in the UK so hardly ever shop there, but when I go abroad I always like to explore there store.

The mask is rather hard to apply to the skin as it comes folded in the bag with a lot of liquid in so it's quite tricky to get it out and onto the skin without getting in a flap. But once out and applied to the skin I was happy to see the mask stick to my skin and stay put which I was worried about, it at first feels cold and unnatural but after a while starts to feel good and relaxing.

Lifestyle - It's All About Years and Years

One of my favorite bands is Years and Years so when I found out about there tour I had to go and booked tickets using there presale ticket system - sign up to there website and get tickets 2 days before there released to the public. This meant I got tickets before the mad rush and they sold out, the gig was in the 02 Academy in Birmingham so it was a standing gig.

The gig was packed and as I'm not a fan off crowds I had to stand at the back as my anxiety was on edge the moment I walked into the room. I stood in the middle at the back so had a great view of the stage and was able to panic at my own free will without anyone judging me. I had a drink to calm my nerves (over £5 for a vodka and coke though!!) but once the two supports acts had come on and warmed the crowd up my nerves calmed as I knew it was Years and Years time to come on stage.

There music is very much pop electric and when they sing live they sound very much pop with there drummer and backing singers. But the show was fantastic and even though you could tell Olly was scared they put on a great show, it was the opening night of there tour so Olly was bound to be scared. They performed a great set and left the stage with everyone on a high, however one thing was missing they hadn't sung there classic song 'King' so as the crowd cheered them back we were treated to there song that threw them into the limelight!

I had a great night and even with my anxiety and nerves I was able to get through the gig and sing my heart out to there songs!

Beauty - E.L.F Coral Cutie Lipstick

While I was in New York I went into there TJMaxx to have a look at there beauty items and to my pleasure they had a whole stand of E.L.F products. Even though I know they are available in the UK I couldn't stop myself going and looking through the selection and picking out one of two things.

Beauty - Kat Von D La Femme Lipstick

I have been a lover of Kat Von D since my teens with my biggest wish being to get a tattoo designed and created by her and my second biggest wish to own make up from her range. Sephora have only just brought her range over to Europe but as I was in New York a few weeks ago I went straight over the her stand and began to mooch through. I wanted to buy the whole range there and then but it's quite an expensive one to go for even more expensive then MAC so I opted for a lipstick!

I went for LA Femme a very girly shade of coral pink which is bang on trend for this autumn and winter but I could easily see myself wearing this shade all year round. The lipstick is creamy and glides onto the lips without any effort and blends so nicely to a build able coverage meaning you can go a subtle coral shade of pink or a deep dark rich coral pink easily.

Beauty - Barry M Brow Wow!

Shading my eyebrows has been a daily routine for me since my teens, so buying the right pencil or eye brow product is always high on my priority list when purchasing make up. I have naturally light hair and over the years it has darken to an ash brown however my eyebrows have stayed the same light blonde I had as a child, so I have to shade in my brows to get the right look and one to match my hair.

My pencil from Soap and Glory finally ran out after around 6 months of use and even though I loved it the price wasn't right for me, so after browsing a few brands I found myself looking at the Barry M section. I went for a product that really drew me in with it's design and shade selection which happened to be Brow Wow! a simple pencil with an added brush.

Fashion - AW15 Scarves Collection

I'm a massive lover of scarves and wear them for most of the Autumn and Winter months so for today's post I'll be sharing my collection with you, some are old and some are new but I only have a small collection of well loved ones from high street stores such as New Look and Primark.

Autumn Scarves
For Autumn I tend to wear the thin type of scarves which add some detail to an outfit and are there to layer instead of adding warmth. I have four in total and each one is quite different to the other so I have a really nice collection that I'm proud of. My most worn is my burgundy skull scarf from H&M which I've had for around two years and it's still in fantastic condition, I wear this one the most as it partners with outfits so well. My blue polka dot one is from La Redoute and I wear this one when I have a really plain outfit I need to dress up, it's extremely thin so suits some summer outfits as well, it's also quite small so can be added to bags if needed. Next up is my royal blue scarf from Monsoon which I adore the fabric is so thick and heavy and it feels so soft, this one is when I'm feeling daring as it's such a bright colour but it goes well with outfits. Lastly is my plain black Primark scarf which is well loved and on it's last legs but I love to wear it to darken a bright autumn outfit as well as use it to add some style to an outfit for going out.

Winter Scarves
I only have three winter scarves two are very similar and both from Primark and I brought them last year in Edinburgh. There both a blue wool materiel and the difference is one is a snood and one a scarf but I love them both as they add that small bit of comfort and bit of warmth. Lastly for my winter scarves is my tartan wool scarf again from Primark but one I love, if I'm having a dark clothing day and need to add some colour to my outfit this scarf is perfect as it's nice warm colours make any outfit look good.

What scarf do you reach for over the AW months?

So Long New York

My last post on what I did in New York! I hope you liked my little posts and I shall be doing a more in depth review over on my travel blog, if you want to take a look then click here .

9/11 Memorial
On my last day I went to the 9/11 memorial which was a mix bag of emotions but a really nice place to go, I was 11 when it all happened and I still remember it on the news so it was all very odd seeing the pictures and visiting the memorial but it was something I wanted to do.

Rockefeller Centre
I wanted to go to the Rockefeller centre for one reason and that was to see the Top Of The Rock but the view wasn't very clear due to the fog however it was a lovely last place to visit before my journey home!

Going home was a little more stress free and the airport departures is a little more organised and a little better then arrivals, however I would not advise using JFK airport. That's it for my post's on New York I hope you enjoyed!
