Beauty | My Cruelty Free Makeup Routine

I made the decision to go cruelty free around 6 months ago now and have felt good every since I made the choice, for me it just felt normal to not harm animals anymore so going cruelty free was a good choice. I understand why people don't as it took me a while to find products that actually worked well for me and looked good but now I have my make up sorted I wanted to share an updated what's in my make up case for you.

Beauty | Colour Correcting Palette Maybelline

At first when I used this product I wasn't overly impressed with how it worked and how I was suppose to use it but after some research and searching some online tutorials I managed to get to grips with the colour correcting palette from Maybelline. Maybelline are a great affordable high street brand that have some great products, for just £2 I managed to get my palette in the sale.

Lifestyle | Cruelty Free Brands I Use

It's always good to make some right choices in life and I feel one of them is to go cruelty free for makeup and beauty items I use in my everyday life, I wanted to share with you my most used brands and which ones I love to buy from. This list may seem short as I'm only listing the brands I know and love and not all the brands, this is because I don't want to share any information that may not be right.

Beauty | Primark Setting Spray

Primark beauty has done it again and came out with another product I seem to love, overall with the beauty range at Primark I'm yet to come across a product I don't like which has impressed me a lot as the products are at such affordable prices and look great as well. This time around I picked up the Setting Spray for £2 and have been using it for a good three weeks now so it's defiantly time for a review.

Avon Super Extend Liquid Eye Liner

I don't tend to wear much eyeliner as I never seem to get it right or it always smudges leaving me looking odd, however I wanted to try out the Avon liquid eyeliner as I had heard some great things about it.

Kiko Milano Wet and Dry Eyeshadow 221

I'm not one to fall in love with an eyeshadow due to my awkward almond shaped eyes but shopping in Kiko Milano I came across a gorgeous eyeshadow from the wet and dry range. The colour really drew me in and the look off the product really made me want to purchase it.

MakeUp Revolution Oil Control Fixing Spray

In the summer I tend to go make up free or attempt to keep my makeup on with Primers and Fixing Sprays, this year I've picked up a new one from Makeup Revolution which is the oil control fixing spray. At £5 it's a great affordable spray to go, available from Superdrug.

Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick

Contouring is pretty much a must when it comes to me doing special make up or if I'm going out so getting it right is an important task, I'm always browsing new products and love finding new ones so when I spotted one from Maybelline I had to pick one up.

Tanya Burr Galaxy Eye Palette

I didn't really need a new eye shadow palette but once I had glance at this Tanya Burr one I just had to buy it. The packaging is spot on, the eye shadow is spot on and the price is spot on! so it's a win win situation for me and this product. At just £6 for 4 eye shadows it's a great affordable palette to pick up, available at Superdrug it's worth going in just to take a peak at the product.

Spring Make Up Picks

Spring has sprung upon us and is out in all it's glory so today's post is all about my make up picks for the next few months before summer hits us. I switch my make up up quite a lot so it's always changing and I always have something new on my face but for Spring I've gone for some nice light pink tones.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Review

For the last 6 months I've been using a BBcream and wanted to switched things up and try going back to a foundation set, I was browsing my local Superdrug and came across the Rimmel range. I have used Rimmel in the past so know it works well, I was really drawn into the Lasting Finish range which boasts at being a full coverage set so I picked them up to try them out.

The packaging is eye catching and bright with red being the main colour, it really draws you in and just screams out at you so I was immediately picking this set up on the shelves. I picked up the foundation, powder and concealer which are all good sized products.

What's In My Make Up Storage - Part Two

I hope you liked Part one of this post and as promised here is part two which goes through the other three drawers in my make up storage boxes which I did a post on last Monday.

Top Drawer
This drawers contains all my lip products so lip sticks, balms and everything in between. I have used an old glossybox to place all my smaller products in and then the chunky ones have gone at the front of the box to keep them more organised and to look less messy although I'm not sure it's worked!

Middle Drawer
All my travel items are in here as well as my perfumes, right at the front my perfumes are all squished in so it's easy for me to grab one give it a spritz and go. In the Hello Kitty case is all my perfume minis and rollerballs as I prefer to have them all in one place as there small and tricky to find but also out of my main travel bag so they don't smash and get into all my beauty products. In the Grey Hello Kitty Case is my travel mini's and beauty bits to take away on holiday, it's running a little low so I will have to make a splurge purchase next time I'm in town!

Bottom Drawer
The 'junk' drawer which is filled with my many moisturisers and then the rest is junk. I have so many cotton pads there's enough to keep me going till Christmas and then I have enough moisturisers that I can probably keep going till the Christmas after that!

I do hope you have enjoyed this post, let me know all about your make up storage and what you prefer?

What's In My Make Up Storage - Part One

On Monday I showed you my new make up storage and I have finally got it sorted to how I want it so I thought I would give you a little tour and show you what's in each of the drawers. This is a part one/two post as it would be a little to long to put into one post so on Monday 25th part two shall be going up.

Top Drawer
In the top drawer I store all my make up bits so my everyday make up and my going out or extra make up bits I don't wear daily. I have them in three make up bags so I can easily locate everything and keep it all nicely organised. My everyday bag is my Hannah Maggs bag which is a lovely floral design is has all my summer/spring make up pieces in, the Zoella bag contains my going out stuff so my MAC items and my palettes, while the Disney bag contains smaller items for eyes which I use occasionally but not everyday.

Spring and Summer 2015 - Face

For Spring and Summer I don't tend to change a lot in my make up but I do a lot of little subtle changes that make a massive difference in how my face and make up looks. I tend to brighten it up more and use a lot of natural and bright eye shadows to create a really fresh and bright make up look to get me through my day. I mainly change one or two things rather then my whole set as at the moment I'm happy with my foundation that it would be much more of a hassle to change the whole thing rather then a few smaller things.

My main change is my eyes I tend to stay back from the heavy eyeliner looks and dark eye shadows and go for lighter much natural looks. The one product I shall be overusing is the Lush Focus Eye Shadow Cream which is a fabulous green grey shade which matches my eyes perfectly making them look fresh and larger then normal. The cream formula is easy to use and blend and I find it has a great wear and long lasting effect on the eyes meaning I can happily apply in the morning and not have to worry about ti fading my the time I'm at work or an hour into lunch. I'm also loving my MAC RiRi Her Cocoa Palette which has some brilliant nude and natural eye shadows for creating a subtle look or a alternative smokey eye with no dark or dulling colours, as it's MAC is has a great long lasting effect and blends so nicely with the right brush.

To brighten my face with my normal make up routine I've added in a highlighter as I find it's the best way to add a lighten effect without going to white or looking to ghostly, the one I use is the Kryolan Cashmere Highlighter which has the smallest bit of shimmer in but blends so nicely with the rest of my make up I can't go wrong. It looks lovely in photos and bring out the best of my features when used right, it also lasts all day and doesn't fade or go cakey which I love.

Lastly a great way to brighten my face and look summer ready is changing up my blushers, in summer I opt for cream blushers and love Topshop's Head Over Heels and Revlon's Charmed Enchantment which are both brilliant blusher's which work well and blend in nicely into the skin, I find both have a great long lasting effect and seem to adapt well into my skin care and make up routine. Head Over Heels is a really bright orange shade which makes my eyes look fab while Charmed Enchantment is a really subtle pink shade which make me look slimmer so both have great quality's for the summer sun.

So that's it for what I'm loving this S/S , what will be the major change in your skin care?

What I Wore On My Face For A Wedding

I attended my sister's wedding last weekend and we had the pleasure of doing our own make up which I always love as I know my face better then a make up artist, I was really excited to get started and was quite happy with the results!

I started with my daily moisturiser my Soap and Glory one a nice safe option as I know it suits my make up nicely and doesn't give me breakout's so I went for that option. Next up I added my MAC Foundation and covered any blemishes with there creamy concealer, I always use MAC for special occasions as it covers my skin nicely giving me an even skin tone and also covers any dark areas or spots. I took away any shine my using MAC Powder which I always use if I know there's going to be loads of photo's as it gives me such a nice look.

For my eyes I used the MAC RiRi quad as I wanted to create a really nice natural look which I know looks good on photos. I used my Rimmel Scandaleyes to create long thick lashes and that's all I use for my eyes as I wanted a nice subtle yet noticeable eye and felt that the mascara really gave that look. For my eyebrow  I wanted a nice natural brow so went for my Soap and Glory Arch De Triumph as it's my daily brow pencil I felt confident using it to create a nice brow look.

For blusher I wanted a really light effect not to shocking but a light shimmer so I opted for MAC's Desert Rose as it's such a nice subtle shade and blends nicely with the rest of my make up, Last but not least I used Jelly Pong Pong's Lip Blush in the shade Cranberry, this create a nice red/orange shade on my lips and create the nice pop of colour with I needed with my more subtle make up look, it also matched my dress really well with I loved.

Summer Hit List - What's On My Face

I've decided to do a set of post's all about what I've been loving this summer beauty wise, it will be around 4-5 post's long and will include all the product's I've been using over the last month in summer! Starting with Make Up.

For the base of my face I've been using concealer to cover any blemishes and any dark areas I've also been mixing it with my morning moisturizer to create a tinted moisturizer instead of using a thick and heavy foundation. Over the top of my concealer I've been dusting my face with powder so it doesn't look shiny or sweaty. To create a lighter look on my cheeks I've been using my cream blusher with a hint of highlighter, this is to soften my face and create a nice summer glow. I've finished the look with my brown mascara to create a light and bright eye look instead of a dark and smudgy messy look I tend to always get in summer!

All the product's I've used are here:
Revlon Concealer
Revlon Colour Stay Powder
Natural Collection Mascara
Me Me Me Highlighter
Topshop Cream Blush

What have you been using on your face in the summer sun? Let me know below!

I'm packing light as I will be there for only two days so i'll be taking my small travel case as I do intend to do some shopping so I will be stuffing it to travel back with!

For showering I'm using my Clean Girls Shower Cream from Soap and Glory, For after the shower I'm using the Vaseline body lotion and for any extra dry area's as I always get affected my the sea air I'm taking the Yu-Be cream. Part two post is coming soon all about clothes!

My Current Makeup Routine

A while ago on my blog I did a makeup post on my everyday makeup routine which has dramatically changed since the last post so I thought I would update you all on what's changed.

To start with I use my Soap and Glory Facial Daily Moisturiser which is perfect for underneath makeup as it's not too thick and it soaks in nicely, it also has a nice fruity scent to it but it's not as strong as the normal Soap and Glory scent.
Next up I apply my foundation and concealer which are both MAC products, I use the Studio Fix and Studio Finish products which are perfect for my skin tone and skin type. They are on the pricey side but I find it works best for my skin so I tend to pay that bit more.

After applying my foundation I use my Studio Fix powder and MAC's Desert Rose powder, a lovely deep rose shade which comes out lovely when applied to the face.

Lastly I use my Natural Collection mascara as it's a all time favorite of mine, and for my eyebrows I use the Maybelline Brow Drama which I love using as it goes on well and lasts all day as well as giving my eyebrows a great shape and not leaving them to dark.

To apply all of that makeup I use quite a few tools, I use my Primark powder brush and my Real Techniques Brush as well as the Real Techniques Sponge (beauty Blender) and I then finish with a spritz or MUA's Fixing Mist to hold it all in place!

It's change quite a bit to the original post but I feel my make up is how I like it and I don't think I shall be changing it anytime soon!

MAC So Chaud Review

While shopping in Oxford a few days ago I picked up a new summer/spring MAC lipstick to add to my ever growing collection, I picked up a summery orange red shade called So Chaud for only £10 as I had hit my £5 review on my Debenhams beauty card!

The shade is a rather bright orange with a nice red undertone which picks up nicely in photos, I noticed with this lipstick it did dry out my lips rather quickly so I applied a nice base coat of my Nuxe lip balm and it seemed to work.

I would wear this shade during the day and night as it goes well with most of my outfits and it's not too shocking to not wear during the day or at work but it also looks nice as an evening out lipstick as well. The lipstick is from the normal range so it's just a matte shade with no added extra's so only cost's £15 which I think is worth it for this lovely lipstick.

MUA The Artiste Collection

I picked up this multi use palette as I loved the marbled eyeshadows which you get 6 of but included in the palette is 2 blushers, a highlighter and a bronzer. It cost around £4-£6 as I picked it up a few months ago it isn't a new release anymore but it was when I purchased it, I love to use MUA products as there are always so good as so cheap as well as having a great range which most recently got moved to its own stand and not a spinning stand which got placed wherever Superdrug had space!

The Marbled effect eyeshadows are great looking and come out lovely you get Pistachio, Mocca, Ice, Grape, Chocolate and Cookie.

The two blushers are lovely shades of pink called Pink Sparkle and Primrose.

Lastly the highlighter is called Shimmer Kiss and the bronzer is called a simply Bronzed.

I think this collection is perfect for people who have just started to be more adventurous with makeup or someone who travels a lot can have all the necessary makeup tools right here in this palette. If it's still available in MUA I would definitely pick it up!
