Nails | Barry M Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint

In the Barry M Coconut Infusion range you get 10 gel nail paints priced at £4.99 each however Barry M always have offers on such as a 3for2. I currently own 8 originals Oasis, Laguna, Surfboard, Flamingo, Paradise, Scuba, Tiki Hut and Popsicle, included in the range is two more shades called Flip Flop and Lemonade. However I own Aloha and Sunkissed instead I believe this is due to purchasing a set from Barry M and not them individually.

Beauty | My Favorite Nudes

When it comes to finding the perfect everyday nude beauty product it can get very stressful as there seems to be loads out there and they all claim to be the perfect one. Here's a list of my favorite beauty nude items:

For lipstick is has to be my Soap and Glory Super Nude which is a matte toned basic beige lipstick that looks impressive on the lips to give it a natural and bold lip colour. I find it goes on nicely and doesn't bleed out but lasts most of the day on the lips, it doesn't cake or dry out the lips which is a massive bonus for a matte lipstick.

Beauty | Best Of The Glitter Nail Varnishes

This year I've gone  a little over board with the glitter nail varnishes and wanted to share my favorite with you today!

Tanya Burr - Carnival Night
This polish looks like the perfect going out to a party polish, with pretty rainbow glitter specks and lovely berry toned purple polish it's one of my go to uplifting shades. I normally wear this to parties over the festive period and love how it looks on. It was available in the advent calendar from 2015 but you can find it online from £2 up!

SS16 Nails - Most Worn

This Summer I've been loving light pastel shades on my nails and have decided to share what I've been wearing just like my last post on my lips. So here are my four most worn nail polishes of Spring and Summer 2016!

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nails
My most worn has been the Barry M speedy range which has some amazing light summer shades all of which are quick drying. I was very surprised when trying the range as I didn't think they would actually dry quickly but they do! There also very affordable which is great and they always on offer which is even better.

Summer Nails With Barry M

I'm a massive fan off the affordable high street brand Barry M and while I was out shopping I decided to purchase some new polishes for summer, I came away with three polishes which I think are the perfect nail varnishes for SS16. The polishes start from £2.99 and the most expensive is £4.99 but there all affordable and work well.

Blogmas - Day Two Festive Pink Nails

Pink is not the most reached for nail shade but I find it perfect for Christmas and the festive period so wanted to share with you my festive pink nails that look very glamorous! I love to glam up an outfit for festive parties and also feel like a coat of nail varnish can make an outfit look complete so here is my festive pink nail post!

Beauty - Barry M Genie Lipstick Review

I was introduce to a new lipstick by my sisters around two weeks ago and was very much intrigued by it, the shade of the lipstick is bright green and the name is Genie so I was attracted to the lipstick from the word go. The lipstick is from the loved Barry M range so I was excited to see what I was getting myself into, Barry M is a range I always reach for when I'm looking for new lipsticks or nail varnishes.

The packaging is very bright and out there with a bright pink top and bright green bottom with a simple black band and simple black writing it's an odd one but very eye catching. The shade of the lipstick is a darker version of the green shade in the packaging so it's a very bright lipstick to get out when out and about.

Beauty - Barry M Brow Wow!

Shading my eyebrows has been a daily routine for me since my teens, so buying the right pencil or eye brow product is always high on my priority list when purchasing make up. I have naturally light hair and over the years it has darken to an ash brown however my eyebrows have stayed the same light blonde I had as a child, so I have to shade in my brows to get the right look and one to match my hair.

My pencil from Soap and Glory finally ran out after around 6 months of use and even though I loved it the price wasn't right for me, so after browsing a few brands I found myself looking at the Barry M section. I went for a product that really drew me in with it's design and shade selection which happened to be Brow Wow! a simple pencil with an added brush.

Beauty - Barry M Top Coat, Base Coat and Nail Hardener

I love all in one product's that actually work and Barry M's top coat, base coat and nail hardener is just the product I'm looking for. At just £2.99 it's hard for me to not jump about and shout about this product as I love it that much!

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry - Full Throttle

I couldn't help myself and had to go back and pick up another shade form the Barry M Speedy range and this time I opted for the shade called Full Throttle which isn't really what I would normally go for but as it such a cute light orange shade for summer I didn't mind to much. You can read all about the other two shades I picked up here - Quick Dry Nails

April 2015 Favorites

I feel like I haven't done a favorite for ages so thought it was about time I share with you all what I've been loving. There is quite a mix bag of items I've been loving but there all really great products that are well worth the hype.

Superdrug Anti Frizz Serum
My hair this month has just had the biggest meltdown and has gone really uncontrollable so I've had to use my anti frizz serum almost none stop over the last few weeks but I've been loving the effect it has on my hair. It makes me hair feel softer and gives it a little bounce for when I'm having a bad hair day, it's unscented and is a gel like texture which you only need a small amount of as a little goes a long way.

Barry M Quick Dry Nails

I spotted a great new offer in Superdrug on some new nail polishes from the range Barry M and thought I would check them out. It was a 2 for £7 on the new Barry M Quick Dry Nail Paint which for me sounds great as I'm always in a rush and the idea of having a quick dry nail polish is just up my street. I picked up two very summery shades and couldn't wait it to get them home and test them out, in the new line there are 9 to choose from.

The packaging is very cute and looks really quirky with it's finish line lid and classic glass bottle it looks really nice. The them behind the the new range is 'Speedy' so all the new paints have cute names like Pole Position and Kiss Me Quick which are the two I picked up, I love when brand bring out a new range and make an effort with the whole product.

The applicator is a little odd as it's a wide brush which I sometimes find hard to use as I get paint everywhere but this brush is flat and oddly enough it makes it easier to apply the polish to the nails without it getting everywhere. So even though it a large brush it doesn't seem to hold to much product and makes it easier to apply the product to the nails which I thought was a great feature.

The Pole Postion nail paint is a lovely minty green shade which looks great after two coats, it goes on really bright and looks really uplifting and great for summer. While Kiss Me Quick is a very cute girly pastel shade of pink which I adore, it just screams summer and looks so nice almost like a strawberry milkshake shade. All the nail paints in the range are very spring and summer themed which is a lovely breath of fresh air as I haven't really seen any good new releases from other brands this year.

Now then I'm sure you are asking whether or not it actually is a speedy quick dry nail paint and the most simple answer I can give is yes. It works amazingly and after two coats my nails where dry well within 3 minutes which for me is amazing. I air dried my nails for around 30 seconds after painting them and then did a small test and to my amazement it was dry which I was extremely impressed with, Barry M has outdone them selves with this product.

Did you pick up any of the new shades? What were your thoughts?

Battle Of The Brows

My eyebrows have always been awful and I've never had a day where I've got out of bed and looked in the mirror and thought 'wow my eyebrows look great!' as they never have. When I was younger I went through the phase of less is more and plucked and plucked till my eyebrows where thin as they could go, after a few years of this I had a woah moment and grew them out (thank goodness). But then after that they never really grew back right and with my blonde hair they were awful looking, so I dyed them. Yep you heard write I got hair dye and dyed my eyebrows but not a lovely brown shade but black. (please don't hunt me down and yell at me!). So this post is dedicated to all the eyebrow kits and pencils and gels I've tried the past few years and ones I feel would be a much better choice then dyeing your brows black and plucking till there no more!

Tinting
After my horrible decision to dye them with a home kit I finally went to a professional and got them tinting which is much better then burning your brows off. I used Benefit and they were fab, they are always professional and explain everything they are doing and show you what they are using before applying it to your brows. In your appointment they also ask you about your make up routines and get to know your style of make up before shaping the brows into the right shape for your face and you, they use a ruler which may sound odd but it's get you they perfect shape and also makes sure your brows look good. I found I needed to go every month and it would cost around the £18 mark, which is good but due to work commitments and not having the time it wasn't right for me.

Gel
A product I looked at and just thought oh no, the idea of coating my brows with a gel was just a bit no go zone but after trying out one I got as a sample I was pleasantly surprised. The one I have to review today is More Brows by Model co, which is a mascara looking product with the same style brush just a lot smaller. To apply you simply stroke through the brows and create the right look and shade you want which is a simple and mess free way off getting the right brow. It was however a little tricky to get the right shape with the wand as I didn't want to get the gel all over my face but it didn't get to messy. I was also worried about it hardening and looking odd but it didn't which surprised me, they look quite natural which is great.

Pencils
Finding the right pencil is quite a hard task as most places have loads now and they all claim to be the best of the best, I have Soap and Glorys Arch De Triumph which is a great chunky pencil to create a nice natural looking brow. It is double sided and has a highlighter as well as a brown pencil that are easy to use and mess free, you have to just press lightly onto the brow and in stroke like moves just brush it onto the brow then using the highlighter add some light shading to highlight and make the brow look better. I find with the one from Soap and Glory I get a really nice natural look with no dark lines that won't blend and it's extremely easy and stress free using this product.

Kits
The current product I'm using and loving in the shape and define kit from Barry M which is a kit with three cubes of product, a applicator and tweezers. You use a wax to create the right shape in the brow which is really easy to use and doesn't damage the brows or make them hard and unnatural looking. After you use the second cube of brown powder to add colour to the brows which goes on lightly and doesn't add to much colour, lastly you add a highlighter to create a really nice pop looking eyebrow that stands out and looks good. I find this is the way which suits me best and I always get a good looking brow by using this method.

I hope this post has helped you out a little and if you have any input on any of these products or any that I've missed out then please let me know!

Christmas Nails! Glitter Overload

This year all I can think about is having glittery nails for Christmas, normally I would reach for a red or a green or even attempt to do a cute design but this year all I want is glitter. So I thought I would go through my top 5 glitter nail varnishes which are all high street friendly.

Orly - Hair Band
An odd name for a nail varnish but it's one of my favorites and it's always the first one I reach for, it's a lovely gold glitter which goes on lightly to create a simply shimmer of gold glitter. It looks really nice in the right light and add a nice subtle effect to any outfit.

Technic - Ruby Slippers
This shimmery red is perfect over a nice berry red polish but also looks cute and girly on it's own. It add some lovely colour to any nail but also looks nice when worn with a plain outfit to add some sparkle.

One Direction - Little Things
This nail varnish is fab for a quick on the go shimmery glitter as you only need one coat and you are good to go. It add's a really nice subtle glitter but is more like a metallic paint which looks really impressive in photos and for adding some sparkle to an outfit.

Mavala - Pure Diamond
This is very much like the Orly polish but it's a nice silver glitter instead of a gold, it goes on nicely and has a lovely shimmer effect in certain lights. It took me a while to actually like this product as i'm not a fan of silver glitter but after a few wears is really grown on me!

Barry M - Pink Sapphire Glitter
This product is much more then a glitter it's a little bit of a party in a bottle which a lot more going on then just glitter is has more of a sequin effect which I love to place over other nail varnish in order to get a lovely party effect on my nails!

I hope you liked this blog post if you have done any nail art posts please leave them below for me to have a mooch at!

Gelly Hi Shine - Papaya Review

Barry M have a great range of nail varnish and I was having a look when one it particular caught my eye from the Gelly Hi Shine range. It's in the shade Papaya which is a nice light orange shade but as it's from the Gelly Hi Shine effect it looks great on the nails as a nice everyday nail varnish.

I found it lasted for around 5 days which is a bit longer then most polishes as it has the effect they tend to last longer as you need two coats. It gave a really nice shiny muted orange colour to the nails which looked great when caught in the right light, although it's quite a summery shade I've been getting quite a few compliments when wearing this shade and i've been wearing it to work a lot so it's more of a everyday shade then a going out varnish.

What is your favorite shade from the Gelly Hi Shine range?

Barry M Brow Kit Review

I have the worlds worse eyebrows! Even at Benefit she said they were bad, I've tried most things getting them tinted and using pencils but I was after a product which gave me a more defined and natural look which I've 100% found in the Barry M Brow Kit, which is easy to use and works well.

It comes in a handy small box with gold writing on which looks glamorous and fits into my makeup bag like a dream. In the set you get an eyebrow wax, eyebrow powder and a highlighter for the arch of the brow, also included is some tweezers and a handy mirror all which fits in the small 4.5g case!

To use the product you just apply the wax to the brow using the slanted brush in a stroke motion this is to shape the brow and make it easier for the powder to stick, I found the wax to work great as it goes on nicely and doesn't damage the eyebrow as it leaves them really soft and not hard like you would think a wax would make them feel! Next up you add the powder which is to add colour and to make the brow look fuller, I found it again easy to use with a stroke motion and found it easy to blend and to get the right colour as it doesn't go on the thick and adds just the right amount of colour to the brows. Lastly you have the highlighter which you apply using your finger to the arch of your brow to lighten the area and make it stand out better, I found it again extremely easy to do and it added a nice effect to the arch of my brow making it stand out and look great.

The product stays put all day on my brows and doesn't fade which really impressed me as well as being easy to apply it was easy to take the product off as I just used my Bioderma and a few wipes later it was completely off.

I love this product and would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants fuller thicker eyebrows without the hassle of getting them tinted or using products which make you look like a clown! It's only £5.99 which is a price perfect for such a great product!

AW14 Nails

I'm a massive fan of changing up my nails in the winter months and always switch things up and go with completely different shades to what I wear in the Summer and Spring. I thought I would share with you the top 5 nail varnishes I shall be using for the next few months.

Nails Inc - Kate Spade Noir
This is my favorite black nail varnish as it comes out in such a nice dark deep colour and doesn't chip that easy so it's my go to varnish that I can partner with all my outfits. Nails Inc is available at Boots for £11.

Essie - Bahama Mama
My favorite thing about this product is the name it's so catchy and I always find myself repeating it throughout the day! It's a lovely deep burgundy colour which I tend to wear as an everyday varnish, I find it last's for ages and I only need one coat with this product to get a nice shade, it's available from Boot's for £7.99.

Barry M - Mango Gelly Hi Shine
This shade is quite a bright shade for AW but I love wearing it on nights out as it has the Gelly Hi Shine added it goes well when I need an outfit brighten up. The product has a good wear off around 3 days and looks great after just one coat but to get the nice shine effect I would always suggest two coats. It's available from Boots and Superdrug for £3.99.

Technic - Ruby Slippers
This is my go to product for around Christmas time, it's a gorgeous glittery red which looks amazing with a Christmas jumper as it's fun and colourful I love wearing it. It's really easy to remove unlike most glitters and it lasts a good few days, you can buy it online from around £1.99

OPI - Super Bass Shatter
I love this polish in winter as it's a really deep dark purple but with it's shatter effect it puts a great effect onto the nails to spruce it up either for daytime wear or evening wear. I find it doesn't last as long as I think it should but it's such a good effect I can't really complain. It's available from Debenhams for £11.50.

I hope you liked this post let me know what varnishes you will be reaching for this AW!

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream Nail Varnish

One of my favorite summer shades of nail varnish is the Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream a really fun bright blue, Barry M have such a big collection of nail varnishes that this little bottle gets missed easily but it perfect, at just £2.99 it's a great buy.

It goes on in just two coats and lasted around 4-7 days on my nails, I found it worked well with most of my outfits as well which was a nice surprise as I'm always going on with my nails clashing with my outfits. It's the perfect summer shade!

Barry M Mint Green

This is going to be a bad review so get yourself a cuppa tea at the ready! Barry M has always been a brilliant brand and I adore there other nail varnishes and other make up products I just can't get along with the mint green shade and overall product.

The shade comes out very light and I had to apply three coats before getting it to any sort of decent colour, I hardly ever apply three coats as it damages my nails so much so at first I was ready to take it off and just forget I had purchased it but I decided to give it a fair review so left it on. The varnish came out almost watery and didn't have to usual good texture of a Barry M varnish which was odd and maybe why the colour was so weak.

I had it on my nails for around three days before it had chipped quite bad and I had to remove it, I was quite shocked as after three coats surely it should of stayed on my nails for a little bit longer. I was just really unimpressed with this shade, I won't stop buying Barry M products as I usually get on really well with them I just won't be buying the Mint Green Varnish any time soon!

Barry M Limited Edition Glitter Polish

I picked up this lovely glitter polish from a car boot sale and adore it! It's a lovely silver glitter which when it hits a light goes red/green/yellow and every other colour it's a great find for only 50p. I put it on my nails without another colour underneath as I wanted to see how well it goes on as a top coat and it happened to look quite nice as just a single colour, so I painted all my other nails and wore it for around 10 days before removing.

I think it only lasted the 10 days as I couldn't really see any chips as it's a glitter I didn't really notice any, which is great. As it's a limited edition I'm not sure if its available from shops but it is worth having a look in boots its code is 335 as I know Barry M now have a great range of effect polish's out.
