Beauty | Dove Purely Pampering Range

One of my most used Christmas gifts has been the Dove Purely Pampering sets which I was gifted, this range has some amazing products that I've used non stop over the last few weeks and I wanted to share why I love them so much.

The hand cream is my most used product as I have awful dry skin in the winter months so I'm always using a hand cream. The small 75ml tube fits nicely in my bag and is easy to use on the go, it has a simple flip top opening and easy to squeeze tube.  The cream soaks in nicely and leaves my hand feeling soft for a long time, it has a subtle but nice vanilla scent that smells lovely.

Dove Oxygen and Moisture Shampoo

I'm a sucker for anything on promotion or if something looks different I pretty much have to buy it, so while browsing my local Boots I came across the Dove Oxygen and Moisture shampoo for only £2.99 reduced from £5.99. I've heard a bit about the product but it's never really been spoke about that much that I've wanted to buy it, so I was pleasantly surprised when trying it out with how well it works.

Product Empties March 2015

Over the last month or so I've had a lot of products I've used up and feel like I ought to do a product empties post to let you know if the products are any good and if I'm going to be buying them again.

The Body Shop Mango Scrub
The scent of this product is my favorite aspect as it is really fresh and fruity making me want to use the product over and over. The texture is dry and really scrubs into the skin well removing any dead skin and making it easy to buff the area. I've loved using this product and had the intention of buying a new one but when I went into the store I noticed the Early Harvest Raspberry scrub and picked up one of those instead. The product is £13 for a large tube and around £6 for the mini.

Sanex Dermo Sensitive Deodorant
This is the first deo that I have tried from the brand Sanex and I was really impressed, as I have really sensitive armpits I have to go for ones that don't harm my skin but they tend to be not as good as other brands. However this deo works well for keeping my sensitive down and keeping me smelling fresh throughout the day, I'm really impressed with this product and shall be picking up a new one as there only around £2 in stores like Bodycare.

MAC Natural Radiance Serum Sample
I've never got a sample from MAC before so I was really surprised to get one in my bag on my last visit, the sample I got was Natural Radiance Serum to put under my foundation to help keep it in place longer. I was impressed with the product as it went on well and soaked in nicely while holding my make up in place all day, however for me the price is a little to much and I find my MUA serum works just as well so sadly I won't be purchasing the full sized product but do recommend it.

Sally Hansen Moisturising Polish Remover
I've always raved about this brand of polish remover and always love how it removes the nail varnish off my nails and keep them in such great condition. It has a mild scent and it doesn't take to much of the product to remove nail varnish off my nails so for me this is my favorite brand to go for when buying a new polish remover, at only £2.49 it's a great buy that I shall be repurchasing.

Dove 2in1 Daily Care Shampoo and Conditioner
I love this shampoo and conditioner as it works so well at keeping my hair clean and soft while being such a quick and easy to use product. The scent is fresh and stays in my hair all day while I only need a small amount of the product to create a really thick lather to wash my hair in, it's a really great product to use and only costs around £2 in Bodycare so it's one I shall be picking up again.

Sensodyne Rapid Relief Toothpaste
I've been using this brand of toothpaste for around 2 years now and always replace the toothpaste when I have run out as it works so well at keeping my teeth sensitive free and with a mint fresh feeling. I do find however it is a little expensive as a small tube cost £2.49 and that's from Bodycare I have however already replace the product as I love it so much.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
It feels like I've had this little sample for ages and I'm pretty sure I have, the main reason being is that it's one I use and then kind of forget about. It works really well as cleansing and my skin feels great after but it's the kind of product you just forget to use and don't go back to. It is rather pricey but works great so it's worth the money you pay £26 but for me I just wasn't to over wowed so I won't be buying a new one just yet.

One Direction One Moment Perfume
This perfume was one of those buys I never thought I would make as I'm not the biggest fan of One Direction but they do make a brilliant perfume. I brought it ages ago around a year ago and have used it as an everyday perfume since purchasing it for around £25, it has such a nice girly scent and I always get compliments when wearing it but due the fact I have seven other perfumes on the go I can't buy a new one just yet however once I've got through a few more perfumes I shall be buying a new one!

So that's it for this post, what have you used up this month?

Dove Daily Care 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner

I'm one of those people that never stick to one shampoo and in fact right now there is three bottles in my bathroom cabinet all opened and half used. I think for me I get bored or find a new one which claims to be the best of the best and I need to try the product out, but then I found a new one from the range Dove and have fell in love.

It's a 2in1 shampoo and conditioner so it's just a simple one wash product that's quick and easy to use, I prefer the 2in1's as I am a quick shower person and this falls into my everyday routine nicely. It's a very lightweight and creamy kind of shampoo which goes on a lot smoother and lighter then most 2in1's, but once on it lathers all really well and I find I only need a small amount in order to get my whole hair covered in a thick shampoo lather.

It washes out nicely leaving my hair feeling squeaky clean and soft which I love, I find after towel drying and adding a hair serum my hair feels soft and knot free which is also a bonus. As I have a really sensitive scalp I have to make sure my shampoo works well so after using the product for a month now I can 100% confirm it works well for sensitive scalps.

It has a nice fresh soap scented smell and I have found the bottle to last a lot longer then most shampoos, so for me this 2in1 shampoo is spot on for what I need. At around £2.50 from Boots it's a bargain as well. What's your go to shampoo?

Hair Styles For Medium Hair

My hair is at an in between stage right now of being what I want so I thought I would share with you how I've been styling it and what I've been using to style my hair. I have thick unmanageable hair that get's oily to quick, it's a mousy blonde which no layers and no fringe atm!

To wash and condition my hair I use Dove's Daily Care 2in1 with moisture complex, as I'm quite quick in the shower and don't tend to take up to much time with washing my hair I use a 2in1 product which is great for any quick washers like me. The scent is nice and fresh and the product is thick and rich leaving me with really soft and shiny hair. After showering and before I blow dry my hair I add in some express blow dry lotion which acts as a hair serum to protect the hair from getting damaged, I use the Blow Pro one which smells really fresh and doesn't come out to sticky or leave any residue in the hair.

If I am just blow drying my hair I tend to have it in a ponytail or bun which is a really quick and fast way to get ready so I normally style this out for work or when I'm in a rush. I tend to have my ponytail a lot higher up then a standard one and will scrap back my hair so there isn't a parting which some light strands to shape my face, if I have it in a bun I have to go quite low as my hair is to thick now to scrap into a high top bun but I normally do a wrap around bun and add a nice little bow to add some cuteness to my hair.

For styling my hair down I use a mousse to add some texture to my hair as my hair tends to stay quite flat and dull when not moussed but I use the Blow Pro Body By Blow mousse and this adds the right amount of volume without making my hair sticky or to weighed down. I don't tend to straighten my hair nowadays as my hair has been damaged a lot in the past and as it's in quite good condition I am liking it just down and sort of wavy.

If I am doing a different style to my hair like a plait I normally add some texturing spray to add some texture before I style the plait before spritzing it with some hair spray to hold the style. I have been loving the Blow Pro Textstyle as it creates a lovely texture which makes it extremely easy to style any type of hair. To hold the style I've been using my TRESemme salon finish which I've been using for years and still love, I really should move on but it's got such a good hold and is so easy to brush out that I adore it.

Hopefully this post has giving you some inspiration on styling your hair and has also help some others out who are growing there hair out like me and are not sure how to style it. Let me know your favorite hair product to use in the comments below.

Dove Summer Glow Review

I've had no time at all this summer to get a nice summer tan so I opted to cheat and go for a fake tan. I'm not a fan of tanning shops with the UV tanners or being sprayed with a tan so I wanted a nice at home one, after searching online I decided to go for a gradual tan and went for the one from the range Dove.

I went for Fair to Medium skin as I thought this would suit my skin tone more, the bottle I got was the 250ml bottle for £2.49 from Boots. It's a nice handy bottle with a great grove in the side which makes it easy to grip and apply, the cap is easy to open and feels pretty secure when closed. The scent is quite neutral is doesn't have a strong tanning scent and smells kind of like linen which I really like.

Applying the product couldn't be any easier you just moisturize the product onto your body and wait for it to set before applying clothes. It took around 30 minutes for it to dry on my body before I could apply loose fitting clothes and I found after around 3 uses my skin looked darker and had a nice healthy glow which I loved.

The only downside is that is left me with orange knees even after I had exfoliated and moisturized the morning before using the product. After exfoliating over the tan marks it didn't seem to fade to quickly which annoyed me as I then had to walk around with orange knees!

Pro's
Nice scent
Easy to use
Great buildable coverage
Nice summer glow

Con's
Long time to dry
Orange knees

This is a great gradual tanner and I would highly recommend it, for the price you pay and the result's you get it's an all round winner. What's your favorite tanner?

Dove Silky Nourishment Body Lotion

A while ago I had a bit of a breakout on my legs of dry skin and needed a cream to help me out but all I seemed to have was scented product's which are not ideal for sore and irritated legs. So I went over to Boot's and picked up a Dove cream for £4.99, since going back into Boot's it seems to have been removed from there display so I'm not sure where to get the product from now other then online!

The tub is quite large at 300ml and quite heavy with the packaging being simple in true Dove style, it has a twist off lid which I don't normally go for as I find them tricky to put back on after a few uses as it get's a bit slippy but after hearing a nice review of it I decided to go for it. The product is quite thick but goes onto my skin quite well, it does however take a while to soak in so I wouldn't apply if I was in a rush anywhere as it takes around a good 20 minutes to soak in enough to put clothes on.

After around a week usage my skin was loads better and the cream had helped loads making me legs bearable again, over all it's a nice product and does work well so I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again although with 300 ml I doubt I will be buying a new tube anytime soon!
