Fashion | Telephone Hair Ponies

I am a massive lover of products that look really odd but work wonders so I was happy to see Accessorize have come out with there own version of the invisible bobble, this gimmick product came out a while ago now but I've never found one at a good price so I was happy to see a 6 pack for just £2.50.

Beauty | My Go To Dry Shampoos

We have all been in a situation where we need to freshen up our hair but going into a shop and purchasing a dry shampoo can be a tricky situation. I hate buying new products and like to stick to what I know and love, so I pushed myself to find and try some new dry shampoos over the last few months and have slowly got my favorites sorted!

Umberto Giannini
This dry shampoo not only freshens up the hair but also adds volume which is perfect for a night out or giving my hair the little lift it needs. It has a lovely scent the same as the rest of the range but also leaves the hair smelling like I've just been into a salon which I love! The packaging is very chic and I love using this in front of friends as it always gets people talking.

How To Deal With A Fringe/Bangs

I've had a fringe for around a month now and love it but I've found some struggles with it and wanted to do a post today to let you know some helpful tips on how to deal with a fringe or bangs!

Percy and Reed Wonder Overnight Recovery

In the June issue of Elle Magazine there was a freebie that caught my eye and one that really drew me in, a brand I've not heard of before Percy and Reed however the words overnight recovery and hair really made me excited. I suffer badly with my hair as it's so thick and gets damaged so easily that I struggle to find the right products to use, so I always purchase the latest items in order to improve my locks.

Beauty and Hair - First Look AW15

I would say it feels odd sitting in the sun writing this blog post about Autumn and Winter but I really couldn't as I'm sat inside with my fluffy socks on and my oversized jumper! Hello Summer? Has anyone seen where summer has gone to? So for today's post I wanted to share with you the two beauty and two hair trends I'm looking forward to this year.

Eyeliner
This year looking through all the pictures from the fashion shows I have noticed one thing and that is thick and heavy over the top eyeliner. Think about that time you smudged your eye make up and now add a bit more eyeliner and hey presto you've got it! But another trend I've seen is Bambi eyes which is creating really big over the top eyes by using highlighters and eyeliner tricks, I probably won't attempt this one but I shall be getting my eyeliner on!

Beauty - Avon Superfruit Souffle

Avon do a great range of beauty products at affordable prices so I tend to go a little over the top when buying from the brochure so I always end up with a load of products I don't need. One of those items is the hair mask called Superfruit Souffle which is a over scented product that does good things to your locks of hair.

Avon Moroccan Argan Oil

I have been after a leave in treatment for my hair for a while now and have been trying out new products for the last few months, I had a recent Avon order and decided to try out the Moroccan Argan Oil Leave In Treatment. I have used Moroccan Oil in the past and it works really well on my hair so I was immediately attracted to the product.

Dove Daily Care 2in1 Shampoo and Conditioner

I'm one of those people that never stick to one shampoo and in fact right now there is three bottles in my bathroom cabinet all opened and half used. I think for me I get bored or find a new one which claims to be the best of the best and I need to try the product out, but then I found a new one from the range Dove and have fell in love.

It's a 2in1 shampoo and conditioner so it's just a simple one wash product that's quick and easy to use, I prefer the 2in1's as I am a quick shower person and this falls into my everyday routine nicely. It's a very lightweight and creamy kind of shampoo which goes on a lot smoother and lighter then most 2in1's, but once on it lathers all really well and I find I only need a small amount in order to get my whole hair covered in a thick shampoo lather.

It washes out nicely leaving my hair feeling squeaky clean and soft which I love, I find after towel drying and adding a hair serum my hair feels soft and knot free which is also a bonus. As I have a really sensitive scalp I have to make sure my shampoo works well so after using the product for a month now I can 100% confirm it works well for sensitive scalps.

It has a nice fresh soap scented smell and I have found the bottle to last a lot longer then most shampoos, so for me this 2in1 shampoo is spot on for what I need. At around £2.50 from Boots it's a bargain as well. What's your go to shampoo?

Superdrug Anti Frizz Serum Review

As I'm currently growing my hair out I'm having to deal with issues I've not dealt with before such as split ends and dry hair. I've been getting it trimmed each month and making sure I use the right heat protection products but I was after a hair product to help me deal with my hair while I get it to the length I would like.

I went into my local Superdrug and wasn't sure what I was looking for so I asked one of the staff on shop floor who asked what my main concern was so after a chat she pointed my in the direction of the Style Expertise Anti Frizz Serum which comes in a 30ml bottle and has a handy pump which gives you a pea sized amount of product that works great for thick and unmanageable hair.

My main concern was my split ends and dry hair which sometimes gets frizzy at work and this product works really well for everything above. You will only need a small pea sized amount as anymore and it will make your hair look a little greasy so a little goes a long way but it has a really nice fresh scent to it and is really easy to use, just rub the product in your hands and then apply to damp hair before blow drying as normal.

After my first use I noticed my hair didn't have much frizz and was a little bit more moisturised so after my second application the next day my hair looked great and healthy which really impressed me. It also seems to make my hair look a little straighter as I have wavy hair it looks like I had style it that day but it was all down the the serum!

To pick up this great product it's available at Superdrug for £2.99, what is your favorite hair product to use?

Hair-mares!

Since the age of 14 I've dyed my hair and have never really gone back to my original colour until around the age of 22 when I got sick of having damaged hair and wanted to start again. I thought I would share with you some photo's of my hair over the years and I thought I would give you some tips on how to get your hair back to being in a nice condition.

So when I was little I had blonde/white hair which everyone loved and thought it looked amazing, especially when I grew it down to my bum. I had this style of hair until I turned 11 at which point my hair had faded to a dark blonde and I opted to cut it into a 'bob' which didn't please a lot of people but it was what I wanted.

Throughout school I had curtains from growing my fringe out and I didn't do much just kept it at just above or below my shoulders length which was fine. Until I discovered at the age of 14 hair dye, I started with nice shades like dark brown or a hint of red which was fine, but leaving school at 16 meant I had a lot more freedom to dye my hair more daring colours.

So I opted for bright red and then after getting bored I went for black, if I could go back in time at this point I would sit myself down and have a very long talk with myself! I started to add highlights and damage my hair more and more which had an awful effect. When I needed to get a job I found people judging my style and I needed to get the dye out my hair, but being 17 with no income meant I had to grow the dye out my hair and wait which was awful.

Once I had my hair back to normal I decided to try again with the whole thing but went to the hairdressers this time which was a great option as they added a lovely blonde to my hair and I loved it! But the blonde didn't last as it was to hard to keep up and my hair never looked as good as when I first dye it so I got annoyed and went back to a redish brown.

My hair at this point was extremely damaged it was dry and I had developed an extremely sensitive scalp resulting in me only being able to use certain products. My hair now is in nice condition and back to it's normal colour which I'm so pleased about.

In order to get the perfect hair I use a few simple products like Simple Shampoo to not create an irritated scalp, once a week I do an intense hair mask to create thicker and more nourished hair, everyday I use a heat protection to stop my hair being damaged by my hairdryer and lastly I hardly ever straighten my hair so it doesn't get burnt and damage.

Do you have any top tips for the perfect lock of hair?

Summer Hit List - Hair

This summer as featured in some of my post's you will know I've been loving hair donut's and donut accessories in the shape of cute little flowers to place around the bun. I've got most of mine from Primark as they are nice and cheap at around £2 but my favorite has been the nice yellow one from Topshop for around £6 . I've been wearing it non stop and have been pleased with how well it stay elasticated. I think there the perfect summer accessorize that most people can pull off!

I've also been refreshing my hair throughout the day with a summer fragrance dry shampoo from the range Batiste I've opted for Summer Blush but they were quite a few in the range. After a few hours in the sun and a few hours of sweating it out I like the just spritz it over my hair to freshen it up or remove grease either with my full size bottle or a mini, it's been quite a lifesaver!

What have you been loving in your hair this month?

The Body Shop Hair Chalk Review

I've been dying to try out something new in my hair as a previous hair dyer my hair was so damaged I've not been able to do much with it for ages, so when I saw a review for hair chalks I was really excited. They cost £5 each and come in pots of 3.8g from The Body Shop.

The pot are quite small and tricky to use but as it's a chalk it went all over my hands which would of been ok but it doesn't wash off as well as when washing my hair. It went on nicely though and was bright and a nice shade, I used a towel on my shoulders as I didn't want chalk to get on my clothes and then I brush any loose chalk out as well as spitzing it with hair spray. Did it work? No.

I was left with chalk everywhere and by the end of the night it was on my clothes, my pillow, my neck and anything I touched. For me it's an awful product and I won't be using the blue shade as I don't want to walk around looking like a smurf, and to top it off at the end of the night it had faded to a dark red.

How I Style My Hair

On my recent giveaway I was asked to do a blog post on my hair and how I style it, I wouldn't say I know a lot about hairstyles as I tend to stick to either down with my fringe pinned back or up in a bun or high pony tail so this post isn't going to be amazing but it may help someone so I decided to do it!

To start with I wash and condition my hair with Aussie Miracle Moist and once a week I do a Aussie 3 minute miracle, I've been using this shampoo set for around 6 months now and can't fault it as I have very thick hair that gets greasy quickly this shampoo keeps it clean all day and helps with my tangles.

I then use my VO5 heat protection spray and a heat protection serum on the ends of my hair before blow drying, after blow drying I spray a small amount of hair spray to stop my hair from going static and then I decided on how to style my hair.

If I'm tying in back I brush my hair from the bottom and create the height in my ponytail , then I brush over the top of my hair to make it tidy and I also brush my parting back to make into the style as I don't like my parting showing. Then I either leave it tied back into a ponytail or I create a messy bun, I use cute hair bands and clips to style it, If I'm doing this style I will leave my fringe out.

If I'm style my hair down after blow drying I will straighten my hair using my very old GHD's, then I will either clip my hair to the side or I will create a beehive effect with my fringe using a back combing brush and hair spray then pinning it back.
