I feel like I haven't done a Lush review in ages so thought it was about time I did one for you all, this week I use my Karma bubble bar which I picked up around two months ago in the Oxford branch for £3.25. I was attracted to the product due to the fact I thought it was a mini version of Brightside my favorite bar but once I had read the description I realised it was in fact a new product.

Beauty - Essence Matt Gel Nail
For my birthday this year I was given a nail polish from the range at Wilkinson called Essence which do affordable beauty items including the Gel Nail range which offers gel nails, satin nails and even Matt nails which is the one I got. To pick up a pot of the nail polish it's only £1.60 which is a great price to pay for such a great product.
Lifestyle - 11 Things Tag
I love a good tag so was really happy to be tagged by Lena Hedges over at www.forayintofashion.com, I've heard a lot about this tag and couldn't wait to answer the questions. The way it works is that I answer questions that I've been asked by the person who has tagged me before asking my own 11 questions to another group of bloggers.
So here are my answers!
So here are my answers!
- Who would play you in a film of your life? Someone quite sarcastic yet funny so maybe Melissa McCarthy as she has quite a lot of sass yet she is so funny at doing what she does best.
- If you could live in any soap, which would it be and why? I would live in Hollyoaks as it seems to dramatic and there's always so kind of drama going on, as well as the blokes are quite fit!
- If you could change one trait about yourself which would it be? I would change my weight and make myself skinny as it's taking so long to do myself
- What is your day job and would you give it up to write full time if offered the opportunity? I work in retail and would jump as the opportunity to become a full time blogger as working in retail is so stressful but being a blogger would be just sitting in my own home in my pjs and doing what I love best
- What do you not like about blogging? Writers block is the worse! or when you write a great post and don't press the save button, luckily blogger prompts you but it still makes me heart drop a little
- What has been the happiest day of your life so far? When my little brother was born and then later at my mums wedding he hadn't seen me all day and when I finally got to see him as a little baby around (6 months) he did the hugest smile at me like he knew who I was and was missing me!
- Do you play any sports? I don't , I never really liked them at school so never carried on when I left
- What is your favorite item of clothing? Atm it's my geo printed jeans but as fashion changes so much who knows what it will be next week
- If you wrote a book would it be fact or fiction? I've actually written one but never had the guts to send it off to any company's but it's a fiction
- Who is your favorite person from history? Surprisingly it's Hitler I'm so fascinated by him and why he was such a killer that it's made him my favorite person
- Which colour means to most to you and why? I love the colour red as it was my favorite growing up and then it just stuck, so if I reach for a colour or see something I'm drawn to it will more then likely be red
Travel - Some New York Tips
So in just 4 months I shall be on my way to New York and over the last few months I have been getting ready for my trip by doing little things rather then going mad all at once, so I thought I would share with you what I've been doing and also sharing some top tips on a more enjoyable holiday.
Beauty Mini's
As I didn't want to splurge and spend a lot of money on mini's just before going away I have a spare shoe box in my room which I have filled slowly over the last few months with mini's as I've been getting them. So if I have brought a magazine and it contained a mini product I would put it straight into the box, or I would pick up a mini in an offer so if Boots had a buy 2 get 1 free my freebie would be a mini. So my little shoe box now has a great selection of products which I shall be doing a blog post on soon.

Beauty - Fruit Face Mask by Wilkinson
I'm a massive lover of face masks so when I went into my local Wilkinson's and saw they did little pods of face mask's I was overjoyed. I picked up the one that caught my eye which was Orange and Pomelo which comes in a small 20g pot with some simple instructions on the bottom, at only 95p it's a complete bargain!
Beauty -Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel
I'm always on the hunt for new nail polishes and was excited to see some in my Avon brochure which were reduced to £2.99, so I picked up one in a lovely orange shade and couldn't wait to give it a whirl. It's a very summery orange/red shade which gives the perfect pop of colour to brighten anyone's day, however I'm not to sure on how gel like the finish is as to me it just looks like any normal nail polish.
Beauty - Tanya Burr Pretty Lady Lashes
I've been wanting to try out the Tanya Burr lashes from her beauty range for a while now but as my local Superdrug doesn't stock them I have to wait until I visit a store that does which can takes ages. But on a recent trip to Oxford I went in and found three packets left so picked up the Pretty Lady ones which are the full false lashes and not the individual ones which I would need a lot of practice to get the hand off.
Lifestyle - Summer Is On Its Way
Summer is finally here and I've been loving it, yes I may be a little but burnt and already wishing I could wear some of my winter clothes again but bring on the ice creams and BBQs! I may have already had an ice cream and to my shock and amusement I found an ice cream van which sold me a '99p' cone for £1 which I was so surprised at as I'm sure the last time I spent around £2 on a cone and must of been in my teens!
Apollo Hotel and Spa at Basingstoke
As a joint birthday gift me and my sister spent the day at a local spa and although I may have only took one photo I decided to do a blog post on the day anyway. As it was my first ever spa day I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how the day came together and how much fun I had.
Avon Moroccan Argan Oil
I have been after a leave in treatment for my hair for a while now and have been trying out new products for the last few months, I had a recent Avon order and decided to try out the Moroccan Argan Oil Leave In Treatment. I have used Moroccan Oil in the past and it works really well on my hair so I was immediately attracted to the product.
Are Cleansing Brushes Worth The Hype?
I'm not one to jump on many band wagons or try out gimmick products but I found a face brush at a cheap price in Avon so decided to buy one and try it out. I've been using it for around 3 weeks now and must say it has made a big difference in how my skin looks.
Remington Silk Curling Wand
As I've always had short hair I've never brought or owned a pair of hair curlers as I've never needed to use some but as I've been growing my hair out I thought I would treat myself to a pair. I am a complete newbie so buying a pair was a little scary as I didn't know which ones were good or had a good reputation, so I went for the first pair that caught my eye and that was the Remington CI96WI Silk Curling Wand for £15.99 (on offer with £10 off Hair Stylers) in Boots.
As a complete beginner the first attempt was a little tricky but as the wand is so easy to use I finally got the hang off it just as I got to the last few pieces of hair. I created small tight curls which once brushed out went into loose waves which looked really pretty. I was surprised at how easy the wand was to use as you simply press a button to turn it on and then set your temperature before creating some waves.
The wand has some great features included with heat setting's so you get the right temperature for your hair style as well as a setting to lock the temperature so if you accidentally press to up or take down the heat it won't. It also has a really long lead so I was able to get right to the back of my head without any struggles as well as plugging it into a socket which was quite far away.
The curls lasted in my hair all night which impressed me a lot as normally they go all loose before falling out completely leaving me with wavy hair, I did style my hair on day old hair and used hairspray to hold but I feel like the curls would of held well without doing that. Included in the pack was a glove which came in handy as I didn't want to burn the tip of my fingers on the end of the wand and there was also a heat protecting bag which you can store the wand in which is a great item to have.
