Lifestyle | Diet Update

It's been a while since I did a diet update but I wanted to do an update and let everyone know how I'm getting on. I started a strict and much more control diet in January and wanted to share what I'm doing and also do around every 1 month an update. I'm not doing weekly updates as I find them to be quite similar with not much changing so it will be for now every month.

The Return Of Weight Loss Wednesday!

This year one of my new years resolutions is to lose some weight as at the moment I'm extremely unhappy about my looks and my confidence is hitting a new low. Last year I attempted to do Weight Loss Wednesday and was doing well before falling off the band wagon and giving up, so this year I've decided to start again but instead of writing a new post each week I shall be doing a monthly one to keep you up to date we diet's that are working well or exercise's which are good and of course I shall be doing weigh in's as well!

So to start with here are my stats:

Weight 31.12.2014 - 14 Stone 5 pounds

For the next month I shall be doing the Davina workout dvd at least twice and week and shall be doing the Slim Fast diet to kick start my weight loss!

Let me know if you are also dieting and if you are doing some posts as I would love to read them! So I shall see you next month with an update, fingers crossed I loss some weight!

#BloggersWLW Week Thirteen

Welcome to week thirteen! This week I'll be telling you all about the Bootea cleanse I've just completed, there's a lot of hate going around for this latest trend which is one of the reasons I brought it as I wanted to test it out to see if it worked. It's cost £19.99 for a two week cleanse from Holland and Barrett you can also do a 28 days cleanse although you need to buy his online at £37 with £5 p&p or wait for Holland and Barrett to do there buy one get one half price and pick up two packs of the 2 week cleanse!

So what is the Bootea cleanse - You basically drink a cup of tea every morning which provides extra energy, burn's fat and calories and suppresses your appetite. The drink tastes odd at first as its a green tea so it may taste odd to begin with but after a while you get use to it. Then every other day you have a cup of tea in the evening just before bed which contains a laxative to help cleanse. You can sweeten your drink as well as having it cold if you don't want a hot drink.

Does it work - Yes! I was extremely happy with how it worked and how well I lost the weight, it filled me up in the morning and help me to not over eat as well as not giving me hunger pains. I also managed to lose a grand total of 6 pounds on the two week diet!

I would 100% recommend this diet and would have no hesitation to complete another cleanse with the same company. If you have completely the two week cleanse let me know!

#BloggersWLW Week Twelve

So for this month I've already started a new diet plan which is the Bootea cleanse which will last for another week, I've already seen some great changes and am looking forward for a mid month cheeky weigh in to let you know the results!

My goals for the next month are -

  • To complete the Bootea cleanse
  • To stop eating out
  • To cut out milk from my cups of tea

#BloggersWLW Week Eleven

Today's post is all about eating out a daunting experience for anyone on a diet but I've found a few restaurants which do a great range of food but also have the calories to help you out!

McDonald's
Yes you heard right I'm promoting McDonald's on a weight lose post! If you go to the counter you need to simply take or ask for the sheet that's on your tray turn it over and hey presto all the food they served with all the nutrition information! I've found with Weight Watchers I can have a hamburger and small fries with a diet coke and still have points in the evening to have a snack.

Weather spoon's Pub
This pubs are fab as they have a great selection of affordable food and they have all the calories on all the items on the menu, including a healthy low cal selection all under 500 calories. I love going to these pubs as they have so many around the UK you can't go wrong.

Yo!Sushi
Another great restaurant with loads of items all under 500 calories, if you ask nicely they will advise which selection to make to help you out on your diet. Last time I asked she gave me load calorie food which was super filling!

Boost
If your out and about and want a quick to go lunch I would suggest Boost the juice bar, I ordered one of there low calorie juice's and was really surprised as it filled me up till dinner time and was extremely healthy. It's all made in front of you and they use all natural ingredients as well as having a selection of super healthy low calorie drinks they also do some smoothies and ice creams.

They are my top picks but let me know of any restaurants I can visit to help me with my diet!

#BloggersWLW Week Eight

Today's post is all about Change4Life Smart Swap, there's a lot of adverts about the smart swap idea and on the recent half term my brother was given a leaflet to sign up for free so I decided to sign up my family to see what it was all about. It was nice and simple to sign up you enter a few detail such as your name and address then you are asked about how many family members there are and then a few marketing questions to tick and your good to go!

Around a week later we received our smart swap pack and I was rather shocked at how much you get for signing up for free, We got fridge magnets and a fridge smart swapper with loads of smart swap ideas and we also got some free vouchers to spend in most stores.

As well as all this we get weekly updates and weekly emails with even more smart swap ideas. I was really impressed with the idea and all the items will got, as well as it being free to sign up what more can you ask for! To sign up you can use the website Change4Life or look out for the yellow leaflets in most supermarkets!

Weight 26th February - 14 Stone 4lbs (200 pounds)
BMI 26th February - 36.5
Dress Size 26th February - 18

My goals for the next month are -
  • To follow the Weight Watchers plan and stick to my daily points
  • To do a two day juice/herbal tea detox 4 times this month
  • To up my exercise as i'm still pretty much a coach potato!

#BloggersWLW Week Seven

I've hit a bit of a problem within my diet and I thought I would share with you what has happened, For the last 2 months I've been following the Slim Fast diet and have been doing so well I've lost a stone in weight and have felt great but unfortunately last week I weigh myself and I had gain 2 pounds without changing the diet at all, I felt upset and dishearten but carried on as my stone weight lost last month was amazing and then I started to feel ill.

It began by me feeling sick after drinking the shakes just a bit nauseated but it wasn't to bad and then at work two days ago I had a shake and had to run to the toilets as I thought I was going to throw up. This happened yesterday and then last night I felt extremely bad and was sick a few times but it wasn't food it was pretty much liquid like the shakes.

Today I've stopped the Slim Fast diet and after being on it for 2 months I've lost 12 pounds which I think is good but due to the fact I can't even think about drinking a shake without wanting to throw up I'm going to be switching to Weight Watchers! I'm going to sign up to there website and attempt there diet, I've tried this diet a few years ago and lost 7 pounds before giving up so this time with my dedication I'll hopefully loss some more!

#BloggersWLW Week Six

Trying to find the right meal is rather hard on a diet can be tricky but I have two books which recently have been lifesavers for my diet, I picked up a juices and smoothies book as well as being given a 100 calories cookbook. I've been using them the last month as a snack and dinner meal planner, as on Slim Fast you only need a dinner and three snacks during the day while you have two shakes.

The juices and smoothies book has been great as I brought a smoothie maker a while ago and have found so many good recipes. The only problem is they don't have calories so you may be having a juice thinking you are doing well when in actual fact I've just had 700 calories!
The book is easy to follow and has simple ingredients, it's from Waterstones and cost £5.99.

The 100 calories book is a fantastic find, it has breakfasts lunches and dinners as well as puddings. It has a lot of easy to follow recipes and easy to find ingredients. All meals are under or 100 calories so they are small but some are really filling and say if you want a 400 calories meal it's easy to double the ingredients or add your own stuff.
The book is from Marks and Spencer but as it was a gift I'm not sure on the price.

My smoothie machine is from Robert Dyers and is from there own range so only cost me around £10. It has a fun and easy to use tap on the front to pour out your smoothies and has several power settings. It's easy to use but quite tricky to clean with all it's pieces. I brought it around 6 months ago and it still works great almost like I brought it yesterday!

#BloggersWLW Week One

Hello this is a scheduled post so hopefully it goes up properly as I'm currently in Paris! I'm currently in a Bloggers Weight Loss group and every Wednesday we post on our accounts and today in the first ever blog post for me!

My top tip in losing weight would be to be realistic. It may be on odd one but in the past I've been caught up in some mad diets that I thought were perfect for me but turned out quite dangerous. Like the ones which make you starve yourself either for a day or more than 24 hours, this is doing nothing good for your body or your brain.

The best diet I have tried in the past has been the eat three healthy meals a day diet, a nice simple only eat 1500 calories a day diet. I lost a few pounds a week and then slowly starting eating the wrong foods again, so another top tip try to stay motivated (something I lack).

Lastly my third finally tip is to stay focus on what your goals are, it's easy to read a blog post and think wow I would love to do that and then go off track on what you are actually trying to achieve. So keep a diary or try to remind yourself daily why you are dieting and what your goals are.

I hope these top tips are helpful and you are doing well on your first week of dieting!

A New Edition To My Blog

Each month I will be doing a weight loss blog post as at the moment I need some motivation to lose around 6 stone! Which I know is a lot of weight but if I do I will be a healthy happy 8 stone. I think the pressure to do a blog post and let you all know how i'm getting on will make me stick to my diet and try to impress you all.

This month I will be starting my doing a simple 3 meal a day diet as I always snack and pig out in the evening, starting with a bowl of cereal and banana for breakfast, Lunch will be a sandwich and dinner a cooked meal. There will be no snacking or added meals, I'm hoping to get all meals to around 1500 calories a day so around 500 calories a meal.

I will also be cutting out drinks, switching everything to just water or herbal tea. At the moment I have fizzy drinks and milk tea which leave me with heartburn and bad indigestion.

My exercise again will be quite simply just 30 minutes a day, things like squats, sit ups and some small weight lifting. I won't be joining the gym this month as the thought of going into the gym being this weight terrifies me as I know it will be full of skinny minnies
who don't need the gym!

So for this month starting the 1st October my current weight is 14st 8lb and my clothes are size 18-20, my aim for the 1st November is 13st 8lb and to be a size 18! So please leave me some tips and link me to your weight loss posts!

Keep In Touch, XoXoXo
