Lifestyle | Living With Tension Headaches

16 months ago I woke up with a headache that didn't go away, it started at the front of my head and as the days went on it spread to under my eyes and around my head. It was a dull and painful headache that seems to ease before coming back fuller and more hurtful then the last one. Around this time I was dealing with ear infections/sinus infections and stress, I put two and two together and carried on as normal treating all my problems.

Lifestyle | Gym Life

New year new me, we have all been there. I'm sat writing this M&M's in one hand and the thought of going to the gym in my head, it's now the start of winter and I've lost weight but I'm certainly not on track.  This year I did a new thing though one that worried me a lot but was a must, I joined a gym. From the worries and woes in my mind I nervously made my way to the gym with images of toned and flexible gym bunnies playing on my mind, however I made it there and even got through the induction.

Signing the consent forms to join was the easy part, even going to the gym for the first workout was pretty good but sticking to it was the hard part. I wrote in my diary each day attend gym from 10-2 or go after work at 6pm and do an evening workout, not realising that after work the only thing I wanted was a plate of dinner and to watch a boxset. So after the first month of trial and errors and hit and miss workouts I had some sort of plan, one that was realistic and had a good flow.

I made mistakes along the way don't get me wrong! From the time I forgot to reset the weights on one of the toning machines and almost twisting my back, then there was the time I opted to swim lanes instead and got through the first 8 laps before heaving myself out the pool thinking I was going to have a heart attack, and then of course the dreading first run on the running machine who knew I could make the sounds of a deflating balloon!

Then of course the highs of going to the gym, discovering if I go at midday it's rather quiet and I can use all the machines without being eyeballed, hitting my first 10 pound milestone and having a celebratory slice of cake, discovering good gym clothes in my local Primark and actually looking good in them, the highs are what make gym life bearable however it's always good to mix in a low for the sake of being able to laugh about it later in the day!

The important thing to remember about starting a new thing is it may seem daunting and you may have a lot more lows than highs but at least you can say you have tried, losing weight is something to do in the long term there is no quick fix but it does help to not eat M&M's when trying to be creative, oh and there's a lot less gym bunnies at the gym than you would think.

Health | Ear Infections Remedies For Adults

I've been suffering now with recurring ear infections for 5 months and have a few tips and tricks on how to deal and cope with an ear infection. I have Otitis Media which is a middle ear infections due to water getting in the middle of my ear and not being able to clear the fluid in my Eustachian Tube.

Lifestyle | Period Hacks

Having a period is a natural thing and happens on a regular basic, it something some people find embarrassing or stressful which it really shouldn't be. So for today's post I wanted to share my hacks on how to deal with a period or maybe your doing something wrong and need a little guidance!

An Honest Contraceptive Implant Chat

For the last six years I've been protected from pregnancy by using a contraceptive implant and wanted to share with you today my experiences and what actually happens when going for the implant option. All the opinions are my own and I'm not trained in health in any way, I just wanted to share my honest opinion.

Fitting the implant was very easy and pain free, I was able to get it fitted at my local doctors surgery and after an appointment talking to my doctor about my opinions we both decided the implant was a good choice. The nurse fitted it with a simple procedure of injecting the skin with a local anesthetic to numb the area, then a small cut is made before the implant is placed into the arm and then the area is closed using a plaster and a bandage.

The area felt very sore for a while and there was some bruising but it wasn't to painful, after around four days my arm was healed nicely and I was able to take the plaster off. The bandage comes off after 24 hours and after it comes off you are able to shower and get the area wet. The bruising lasted around a week and then disappeared.

Health - Feeling Sick Remedy's

When winter arrives a whole loads of sickness bugs and colds also arrive making it hard to function and get through the day, so today I wanted to share with you some simple home tricks I do to makes me feel better and get back to my normal self.

Lifestyle - Ways To Relax

I wanted to do a post today on the perfect way to relax and unwind so I've picked my top three ways to relax and hopefully this will help out some people who suffer with stress or just need to relax every now and then.

Read A Book or Colour In
My favorite thing to do when I need some me time is to get lost in a great crime or thriller book, I always read in bed and cuddle up in my favorite duvet with a nice cup of tea. I find getting into a book and really spending time to sit and read helps a lot to forget my stresses and focus on another persons life for just an hour or two. As well as reading I find adult colouring books to be a fab way to relax and I normally sit and colour a picture until my hand has gone numb and I have pencil sharpens everywhere.

Stress Relief

I've been dealing with anxiety and stress since my teens and sometimes I have days when it all gets to much and I need some relief. So when I was out shopping I came across some Stress Relief tablets and thought I may as well give them ago, a pack of 60 is available from Body Shop for around £3.

The tablets are all natural and include Hop Stobile, Valerian and Passion Flower for temporary relief from mild anxiety and stress. As they are a herbal remedy they do smell really strong and almost make me gag when taking one but it is so worth it. I get an nice calming feeling once I take one and I always feel happier and my mood is always improved which makes me a nicer person to be around.

I know that the tablets are only a temporary fix and I would never use them daily only for when I'm feeling low but for anyone who suffers with stress or anxiety I would urge you to buy a pack and see how you feel after a month of using them. I have informed my doctor and he explained it's a great product as it doesn't contain and scary ingredients and it has a positive affect on my mood.

I wanted to do this post today to encourage people to try out a new product which could help them out but if you do need to chat or get anything of your chest you can always email me - jessb1991@gmail.com

#BloggersWLW Week Seven

I've hit a bit of a problem within my diet and I thought I would share with you what has happened, For the last 2 months I've been following the Slim Fast diet and have been doing so well I've lost a stone in weight and have felt great but unfortunately last week I weigh myself and I had gain 2 pounds without changing the diet at all, I felt upset and dishearten but carried on as my stone weight lost last month was amazing and then I started to feel ill.

It began by me feeling sick after drinking the shakes just a bit nauseated but it wasn't to bad and then at work two days ago I had a shake and had to run to the toilets as I thought I was going to throw up. This happened yesterday and then last night I felt extremely bad and was sick a few times but it wasn't food it was pretty much liquid like the shakes.

Today I've stopped the Slim Fast diet and after being on it for 2 months I've lost 12 pounds which I think is good but due to the fact I can't even think about drinking a shake without wanting to throw up I'm going to be switching to Weight Watchers! I'm going to sign up to there website and attempt there diet, I've tried this diet a few years ago and lost 7 pounds before giving up so this time with my dedication I'll hopefully loss some more!
